Hi, not sure if this is a common issue or something that I might have accidentally changed in settings...

The Google Voice assistant sounds normal usually. But if I put on headphones and the assistant talks it's in a really squeeky high pitched tone.

Any help would be appreciated. 😀

That sounds more like a headphone or DAC problem than a Google Assistant problem. If it's the DAC, they'll replace it. Try different headphones to see which it is.

still no joy with a different device. in fact, it did happen with my note 8 before hand. so it must be a Google account issue.

Any clever people who might have an answer?

I have tried the different voice options (with the colour wheel) and it changes it for every day voices but then it will revert to the squeeky voice when doing some Bluetooth commands and all voice commands over a wired headset. It's very strange and i seem to be the only person with the issue - can't find anything else via Google or forums.

I would contact Google customer support to see if they have any solutions. You don't want to hear a Chipmunks voice forever!

Since you think it might be account related you could try signing on with a different account just to be sure

FIXED.

If anyone else has this issue it can be corrected via the accessibility options and voice tone rate etc.

Must have done it on the Samsung a while ago by mistake but it'd only ever shown up occasionally on Bluetooth (rare). I guess the pixel headset uses that feature to read out messages etc?
