"At least late June"

Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha said the phone would launch in the second quarter, but that sentiment was premature, as Motorola told eWEEK it was delaying the device to make some changes that will push it to at least late June.

They are saying "Summer", and late June- thus, we could imply the first Thursday post June 21- which is June 23rd.

It's reasonable enough. I wouldn't put any money on an exact date. My assumption is they are going to release it as soon as possible. Which could bring it to early june or push it into july.

The assumption being as soon as Moto and VZW are convinced they have all the bugs worked out and are comfortable with launching the phone, I think they will. Minus whatever Marketing strategies that come into play. Before the Iphone, Same time as Iphone, after Iphone.

My gut feeling is we'd be lucky to see this thing before July. I'm guessing towards the end of July/August timeframe really. And yeah, I hope to God they do beat the tiered data pricing plan.

Considering we haven't seen any real concrete details on it just yet. No specs, no pictures, no nothing - June I think is maybe a bit too optimistic at this point.

Now, if they start going really aggressive in showing it off in May then, provided there are no unforeseen problems, June could happen. Either way I'm waiting. Putting Cyanogen 7 on my Droid 1 has really eased my pain.

One of the hofo insiders said they are working hard to try and release before August. This makes me think maybe late July, but more likely August.

If a Motorola spokesperson says "at least late June"- I would think you set yourself up for flak if you then release it in July/August.

Thus- I am going out on a limb- and saying, barring new, additional delays- it looks like Moto is suggesting late June.

yeah i too think they will/should be aiming for the end of june/july they dont want to be close to an Iphone 5 release date. that will just cause people to do the wait and see if Iphone gets 4G/LTE which will hurt Moto sales. even tho the Bionic imho is the better phone.

I think many people are confused. They may not advertise it, but Verizon is still keeping the unlimited data for $30 as long as you've had it before the tiered data plans initiate. Also, LTE is not going to change in price. If you're paying $30 for unlimited, once you're area is LTE capable you'll be getting unlimited LTE for the same price.

I'll wait for the Bionic, but if for some reason it's not out by September, then I might as well stick with my Storm 2 (kill me nao!) until the Targa releases.

You'll have to clarify, I assumed the Targa was remaining the same, and that the Bionic was receiving added features and changes, but more along the lines of the Targa. The most popluar and likely scenario right now, although not definitive is that the Bionic that your knew from CES is gone. The Targa that you heard rumors of a month ago will take on the name Droid Bionic (Targa is a code name) and be released sometime during the summer. Most likely July/August.

The problem is most are guessing right now so any answers you get can be completely wrong because nothing official has come out about it.

That said, the targa had a different form factor. It has a hump on it but the camera was also 13 MP I think.

Other changes that might happen are different processor(OMAP instead of Tegra), bump up in specs for FFC, and more RAM.

I honestly wouldn't mind the Targa form factor. Of course it's more based on aesthetics, but I like the chrome framing and the hump isn't an issue, at least I'll know when my phone is in my pocket. The Bionic original body wasn't bad either. Regardless, I just can't wait to get rid of my Storm 2, it's so boring and limited, and the screen is just...well, I'm not going to talk about it. It's a displeasure to put it succinctly.
