In case you dont know, there will be updates starting on May 16th to allow other markets (Amazon, etc) to be used on Android 2.2 and above. So be on the lookout for those of you that don't have your device rooted.
Hell yeah, it's about time. No more sideload, woohoo! No, he is correct. Shortly after the samsung and AT&T press release it was announced the other android phones on AT&T will start recieving the update starting on the 16th.
wheres this info coming from? it could be possible since the infuse is dropping on the 15th. will it allow install of all non market apps or just amazon?
We shall see when we get the update. I don't think there would be a problem updating apps. If there is, luckily with the Amazon Appstore, it shouldn't too much of a problem if we have to delete the apps and redownload the apps. Now this begs the question, should I delete all the apps I sideloaded and download them normally? The main reason to do it would be to make updating the apps easier. Or will the sideloaded apps be able to be updated normally?
Is this going to work like the Infuse with the "unknown sources" option?
What does this mean for the newbies like myself that recently rooted and flashed a gingerbread or other custom rom on the device? I know on iphone I can choose whether I want to update or not. Do I have the same option with Android?
