at&t apn settings issues in US for Huawei p8 max

i ordered the Huawei p8 max a few days ago with the intention to use it on at&t in America. No matter what apn i use the phone can't get mobile data and mms.. phone calls can somtimes have issues, i've been told by everyone it will work (with the exeption of 4g which is fine with me) but it just won't fully work. i love this phone and would love to use it and this is getting very frustrating. anyone have suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you actually checked to make sure the APN settings are correct for AT&T?
