AT&T Captivate - Cant download apps from market

Im running 2.2 firmware.

Im trying to download different apps from the market and with each one I click install, and it shows up at top bar for about 2 seconds then disappears. Ive tried the other suggestions like clearing data and cache from market which doesn't work and I cant even clear the cache, it just appears greyed out.'

Couple quick questions...

Is the device stock or rooted?

Have you tried to log out of your Google account on the phone and then log back in?

Is this happening on WiFi or over Data connection or both?

I would try it on cellular-data and see if it works.

Possible you have some firewall block or something like that on Wi-Fi? Your router that is ..

Check your Play Store app in Settings/Apps/ and see if you have any updates which you probably do. Try uninstalling the updates on the Play Store app then clear data and try again...

Otherwise you may worst case have to resort to a factory reset to see if it resolves the problem.

I do not have play store only have market, and when I go to market in settings/applications/ and then market but see no update option.

Yeah sorry for that.. Been quite a while since my Froyo 2.2 days. Fond days they were.

You may have to resort to a factory reset unless someone else chimes in....

Does everything else on your device function? Surfing the web, making phone calls, etc?
