AT&T: Galaxy S9/S9+ Official Pre-Order Thread

Hope you're able to. Part of me thinks that the store will say "What?!?! We can't do that. "

I'm sure that's what will happen. I'm hoping the chat log comes through so I at least have that. Not that they would be held to what the rep said anyway.

I asked like 3 separate times and she said there's nothing else we need to do, I've noted it on your account, the order can stay as it is and they'll cancel the shipment when you pick it up.

I'm sure it will ship late tonight just to make this unnecessarily complicated. She said I would get it by the 18th initially but I didn't pre-order to get it late.
 
Ok, so the last agent I spoke to said they would be able to cancel the online order at AT&T store tomorrow and I could get the phone there, but it sounded like a stock response, I don;t think he really looked at my account. I'm pretty skeptical they will be able to do anything, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. I made sure they noted it on my account.
 
Same here ordered two S9+ in black. If they don't ship today then I'm definitely going to the store tomorrow to cancel my order and get it directly from them.
 
went to the store and they were super rude. rep says they can help me. told them the situation and the reference note to my account. rep says be right back....goes to backroom. then comes out and says 1) they don't have any in stock, 2) the person in charge said they wouldn't give it to me even if they had any because they want to get promoted to manager.

I said even if there is a note on my account for them to release it to me today, he said "yeah, my manager said release day is tomorrow and they wouldn't give it to me even if there's a note on my account to release it. they want to get promoted to manager and they aren't willing to jeopardize their promotion."

I just said "wow. thanks for wasting my time." called customer care, and they filed a report on the store.

Sorry! At least they were going to let you pick it up instead of telling you to wait until it ships! Good news for everybody else.
 
Whew, these guys are terrible. AT&T makes Verizon (had them previously) seem awesome in every way.

Atter being on many phone calls and rerouted, One even have me a number for a bank on Hawaii for the lolz, I got nothing cause my order is "preparing to ship" so none of the CSRs or supervisors were able to get me to pick up in store or even to cancel, cause it's on the warehouse side. I may have vented to them for an hour.

Sounds familiar.
 
I just noticed there is no At&t symbol on my new S9. I like that... Was that the case for the S8 too? My S7 & all phones prior had it.

Hope all having issues get there phones tomorrow... Its crazy how At&t does business sometimes.

Yeah the s8 and note 8 didn't have the carrier branding.
 
So, this all makes me wonder...what is the point of pre-ordering? I could go to the store and got one tomorrow.

I guess just to make sure you get the color you want. Seems that at&t is the only carrier that didn't send out the phones early.
 
I find the at&t stores in my area always run out of the cute colors and are only left with black or white
Now I'm being told (4th time talking to them today) that it's backordered. Can't tell if she actually knows because they're all terrible with info.

Anyone who is stuck on preparing to ship notice the estimated shipping date is now gone? Looks like we are heading towards a delay. Thanks a lot AT&T.

I haven't noticed that but I've been communicating with them all day and finally got told it was backordered. Despite me asking straight up if it was backordered.

AT&T is literally worthless. I wanna drop them so bad.

It's so dumb that they act like their online, phone, and physical stores are all separate entities that cannot communicate with one another to switch this to in-store pickup.

What makes me most angry is that they knew and just towed us along.
 
How can it be backordered for people who pre ordered day 1 (some shortly after midnight)!!! That's ludicrous and makes zero sense. I bet they'll have black available tomorrow to buy.
