AT&T HTC One 4.3 update is live! (Discussion Thread)

Downloaded and installed. Was a real pain. Had to wipe phone, then the download took hours. But some of the features look worth it.

I figured out the blink feed issue. Had to adjust date and time back to real time(forwarded it one day out to get around att 24 hour check for update) then my blink feed was back to normal.

Should I have backed up my phone before downloading? Is it best to download over Wi-Fi?

In 10 minutes I am on 6% in East Texas, at 38MB.

It's best practice to backup before big updates like this. However, you won't lose anything (if all goes well). I downloaded over Wi-Fi to save usage from my data plan.

I didn't think about it until after I hit OK. Thanks. It's moving along, so hopefully, everything goes well.

Anyone notice their device a little sluggish after the update? Mine gets a little jittery when scrolling homescreens, especially to the blinkfeed page. I've restarted a few times, too. Anyone else experience it?

still good for me, battery life seems better as well for me (but i've seen plenty of people saying it is way worse so i dunno). only thing different for me is the persistant AT&T logo in the top left corner unless i've got a notifcation, but no biggie really.

Tried updating last night. Left it downloading and went to bed (with auto-sleep disabled). this morning I'm still on 4.1.2 and nothing happens when I hit Check for updates in AT&T Software Update. I don't even get the wait till later message. Changed date on phone but still get no response when I hit Check for Update. Restarted phone several times. Any ideas?

It only lags when wifi is on.. Weird. No me gusta.

I have not yet being asked to update from AT&T Menu, I'm outside of US, (Ecuador), maybe will take a bit more time?

Anyway, I got the RUU thing, will wait a couple more days before doing it manually..

Bill, I did something similar to what you describe and also woke up to 4.1.2. However, once I backed out to the Updates screen, a dialog popped up saying an update had been downloaded and giving an install option. Maybe yours did not download, if you're not getting this option.

If you haven't gotten this message, I'd try the following: turn off auto-update date, make sure your phone is on wi-fi, well-charged, and plugged in. Reset your phone's date a day further than you did before, then restart your device. If this combination does not solve your problem, set the date one more day further ahead and restart, repeat. This is what triggered my update (three or four days), and hopefully it will help you get yours.

However, my wife's AT&T HTC One X would not update via AT&T Software Update. I called AT&T support, and they were clueless concerning Android versions and even the functionality of the update app. Eventually, I downloaded the software image (RUU) from HTC's site, but this essentially wipes your phone. Hopefully one of the above solutions or some other actions will help, and you won't have to resort to going this route.

Updated yesterday. Not happy with the additional bloatware. The power icon in stettings looks like its from Froyo. AT&T, you suck.

HTC One updated, but I am missing the expanded view in quick notifications, still have the black bar (in which I am trying to read through forums on how to remove) and the amazing photo sphere camera (maybe I am overlooking this one.

The expanded view you get by tapping the icon on the upper right hand corner after pulling down main notification bar. Is it missing? FYI to everyone: You can access the expanded view first if you swipe down the notification bar with two fingers. Works for me.

Yeah wtf mother ****ers in PA got it I'm waiting in NY for it !! :)

Sent from my HTC One

Thanks, didn't know that

For people that are still waiting for the update to get sent to their phone and have tried manually adjusting the date & time out 24-48 hours, try going one month out.

I had problems with one day, two days, three days and more and it did not work. On a whim I tried a month out and I had notification of an update available for my phone.
