AT&T HTC One 4.3 update is live! (Discussion Thread)

Is it me, or do I hear the speakers have gotten back their power? Sounds like it did before last update when I first got the phone. Louder to you guys? I am almost certain it's louder now, even as I type.

The expanded view you get by tapping the icon on the upper right hand corner after pulling down main notification bar. Is it missing? FYI to everyone: You can access the expanded view first if you swipe down the notification bar with two fingers. Works for me.

This was mad useful thank you dude.

still have the black bar (in which I am trying to read through forums on how to remove)
You talking about the menu/black bar ?

Go to Settings/Displays, gestures & buttons/

Go down to BUTTONS and then change your HOME button option to Swipe up for Google Now & long press on Home for Menu.

Good question. You may have to be on data for this for verification, not necessarily the download itself.

Re: HTC 4.3 update is live!

Okay, I am a new Android user, and I have the HTC One. I just got the new update(4.3) and my only issue is that the apps that I have in my launch bar are also on my home screen. I've tried hiding the apps, but then they get removed from my launch bar also. I didn't have the duplicates before the update, and I would prefer not to have two of the same apps. Am I able to remove them?
I'm also a new HTC user and I am having the exact same problem. Hiding the icons doesn't work because it also hides the ones on the launch bar.

The problem is similar to Removing duplicates on home screen in new 4.2 HTC One update except it involves the Phone, Message, Internet, and Camera app.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this? This is really annoying.

Here's what it looks like for me:

Try different songs , I "think" it's either louder- or back to the original volume. Hard to tell with different songs with different volumes recorded. If anyone has the same music file on a 4.3 and older OS they could do a listen test?

Re: HTC 4.3 update is live!

Just remembered Daydream mode when One is plugged in at night with this update! Used it with my Nexus 4. ClockPlus Daydream from Play Store. Activate via Settings: Display: Daydream: choose Clock plus.

Bill, I did something similar to what you describe and also woke up to 4.1.2. However, once I backed out to the Updates screen, a dialog popped up saying an update had been downloaded and giving an install option. Maybe yours did not download, if you're not getting this option.

If you haven't gotten this message, I'd try the following: turn off auto-update date, make sure your phone is on wi-fi, well-charged, and plugged in. Reset your phone's date a day further than you did before, then restart your device. If this combination does not solve your problem, set the date one more day further ahead and restart, repeat. This is what triggered my update (three or four days), and hopefully it will help you get yours.

However, my wife's AT&T HTC One X would not update via AT&T Software Update. I called AT&T support, and they were clueless concerning Android versions and even the functionality of the update app. Eventually, I downloaded the software image (RUU) from HTC's site, but this essentially wipes your phone. Hopefully one of the above solutions or some other actions will help, and you won't have to resort to going this route.

Remarkably, after trying many different date settings, I finally moved it out a month and then the update process started again. Thanks!

So my battery won't charge past 53% since I updated? Can anybody please help with this? Super frustrating and doing my best to not throw my HTC One through a wall.

Forgive the n00b question I'm about to ask. I have an AT&T HTC One. I'm only using it on my home wifi and do not have an AT&T SIM card in the device. I'm planning on switching from iOS and wanted to get a feel for the HTC before making it my primary device. So here's my question. Can I get the recent AT&T update without having an AT&T SIM card in the phone? I've tried to update using only a wifi connection and it won't even show the update available. I'm guessing I need to have a connection to the AT&T network before my phone sees the update.

All advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think the SIM card needs to be in the device for verification purposes.

I am sorry, when I said expanded view, I meant like in this link :
http://www.android.com/images/mr1/notifications.png

Expandable, actionable notifications. Sorry for the confusion.

Where did you find that image? The icon in the top right corner looks like the leaked Sense 5.5 screenshots. My guess would be that actionable notifications will be included in that update but not this one.

Question: will I be able to download the update internationally? It's been telling me I can't reach the server, and my request has to go through the att servers in some way...is there any way of achieving that?
Thanks!!
