AT&T LG G3 update (2/10/15) LOLLIPOP!

Thought i would chime in......
I got mine last night at 10pm (pst) took 30 minutes.. Seemed to stall on the 2/2 android update section at 35% for about 3 minutes. Google play service required a update i had to reboot for it to go thru after trying 3 times and it stopping at 26%......
Woke up this morning runs great...
Seems like it is more smoother...

Question what are you using for your sms?

I'm using messenger by Google is anyone using stock lg sms? If yes, jas it changed?

Found one thing i am not liking at all.

They removed the ability to change from sound and vibrate ring by press and holding the power button.

Anyone know of a faster way without unlocking screen? Or how to bring it back?

Is this what you were wanting to see?

That is the drop down bar I get as well. Thought I had read that on Lollipop, a single swipe would show notifications. A second swipe would show you a more robust settings quick settings bar - multiple rows, etc. And a double finger swipe would take you directly to the quick settings bar. But all is see is what was posted above.

What your are describing is what I get when I swipe down on my Nexus 7 with Lollipop. It is different on my G3.. I get what is pictured on the screenshot above.

I checked again today and the software update still shows "your phone is up to date".
The software version still shows 4.4
Any idea why I can't get lollipop?

Does anyone know why the notification and quick settings actions would be different in Lollipop on the G3 than on the Nexus 7 and other android devices?

Does anyone who is using 5.0.1 know if AT&T reactivates all of their add-on? (bloatware).
I disable all of the AT&T add-on crud I can and most of it remains in a disabled state. Is this the same for this?

I am guessing it has to do with the skin LG puts on top of Android but that is only a guess. Updating to Lollipop removed the stock email app on my Nexus but did on my G3 so definite difference do exist.

Looks to me like the bloatware remains disabled. Perhaps other can confirm.

I have a pair of Shure 215's that I listen to music through. They have in line mic controls and I used to be able to start and stop music with the control. I seemed to have lost that ability after upgrading to lollipop. Anyone else experience this?

Could someone possibly help me out. My G3 with ATT was rooted and has TWRP installed. When I downloaded to lollipop update and my phone rebooted to install TWRP just keeps popping up. I'm not sure if there is a way to get around this, it just keeps booting to TWRP without installing the update.

You have to unroot then do the OTA. You will lose root though as there is no root for 5.0.1 yet.

These notifictations are kicking my *** lol I hate them on the lock screen unless it's a text that's the only one I want to come up how do I do that

I had to go through all my previous apps in the settings and unchecked "get notifications".

After the update, I was getting notifications for Subway surfers and all the other apps that I previously turned notifications off. Kind of a PITA to go through them all again

Well, like a few others, I left my phone unattended and the update ran despite my wishes. There should be some way to prevent that. Anyway, after it finally completed I was able to restart, update Google Play Services, shut down and pull the battery, then start up again. Everything seems to be copacetic so far. Not really crazy about the new home screen buttons and the Priority scheme for notifications under "Do not disturb" seems a little overly convoluted. Otherwise, no slowdowns. Guess we'll see how battery life pans out now.

This. I'm sure that the Samsung and HTC implementation of Lollipop have their own nonstandard scheme as well. By now everyone should be used to fact that the OEMs can't leave well enough alone and have to put their own stupid twist on Androids stock behavior
