AT&T Note9 Pie OTA Rolling out Live

Okay, so I just flashed to ARL1 through Odin and so far it is successful. Now I am going to flash to Pie through the SD card. Hopefully it works.

Update: Updated to Pie successfully. Did they disable the battery percentage for Pie? Can't see it anymore unless I slide down quick panel.

Go to settings then notification and in there click status bar.

it's funny, previously, i've always bought ATT branded phones, and it always seemed that ATT was the last carrier to roll out OS updates...so I decided to buy an unlocked one this go around and ATT is the first ...go figure...lol So now I get to wait til all the carriers update. :-\
I'm in the Exact same boat as you. Do freaking annoying.

T-Mobile unlocked my Note 9 today. I'm going install the AT&T firmware on it and see if I can get the Pie update. Should be no problem since the updates will come from AT&T on the AT&T firmware.

I don't know if this has been covered already in this thread but there is only one Pie firmware release for all the carriers. This means that if you have an unlocked Note 9, you can insert an AT&T sim and the phone will boot into the AT&T firmware with the apps that AT&T wants you to have including DIrecTV and all that bloat.

If you insert a T-Mobile sim, the phone will boot into the T-Mobile firmware and so on, just like what's been happening with the Note 8/S8 since Oreo.

I'm downloading the Pie update from XDA and I'm just going to jump in without flashing the AT&T firmware Oreo firmware onto my phone and then updating from there because there's no point, it's just wasted steps.

The best thing about all of this is that each carriers features will work such as VoLTE and WiFi Calling.

I heard that Pie would do this I'm excited for this!

For the Carriers New Pie Release that is correct (BYOD) is on theses builds, so basically on any carrier phone locked with pie you can turn phone off change simcard from any carrier and it will work for that carrier, so yes new pie for the locked carriers can now do this.

The phone has to be unlocked to switch carriers sim cards.

No not no more i have tested with my cousin simcard Verizon and boots up Verizon on my AT&T Carrier phone and has my cousin service active.

Verizon phones are already unlocked from the start. This is why it worked for your cousin.

All other phones are still locked.

I believe it has to be unlocked to switch
My tmobile Note 9 I bought outright from tmobile they unlocked my device after 45 days .

I have 2 carrier Att and Tmobile
Before tmobile unlocked it I flashed the unlocked firmware and tried my att sim and it wouldn't accept , said network lock .

Now since its unlocked my tmobile it accepts any carrier

Verizon phone from the carriers are locked , and T-Mobile if i put simcard like i did with S9 Plus it works as well on my AT&T phones, plus i put my cousin simcard on my AT&T carrier phone which is locked and it does work as well, that's where i am getting at.

Verizon phones are sold unlocked. All other carrier phones are locked and that includes AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Xfinity Mobile.

You have to get them unlocked to be able to switch sim cards no matter what and that includes Pie.

There is no getting around that. Your cousin probably had his phones unlocked.

This is 100% correct.

This is 100% correct.

Another note

Since my tmobile is unlocked last month I decided to flash Verizon firmware and still using my tmobile sim it didn't change the boot splash kept tmobile but added some of Verizon bloat , now I'm on pie with my Att and flashed it with Att sim it changed to the Att logo and all of its bloatware.

Edit: the Verizon bloat you can uninstall same with most of Att
