AT&T Pre-Orders: Come In!

I would go with Samsung and get an unlocked one for only one reason: Call and Text is not available on AT&T, but it available on unlocked models. If you have a Samsung tablet, Call and Text will not work with an AT&T device. I like to answer calls on my tablet sometimes.

Call and text on other devices is available on locked At&t. My N20U got that feature with the Android 12 update. Presumably the S22 phones will have it as well.

Bought myself the s22 ultra black 512gb. Decided to get a pixel 3 off swappa for $70 and trade that in for the $800 credit. Keep my 13 pro max and have the s22.

I think I'm going to go with ordering through AT&T as opposed to Samsung. $800 credit for a S7 vs. $500 credit for my S20 Ultra (found the S7 for $45 on craigslist). Samsung.com's $250 accessory credit isn't all that attractive when the 45g charger and most of the covers are not available. And I really don't need another set of head phones.

Thanks for the heads up.

You can still get the $200 credit I believe buying the device elsewhere.

That must be new with Android 12. Thank you for the clarification. I tried out an S21 Ultra last year, and returned it due to that feature being locked out. Good to know the carriers are loosening up.

Do you get the $200 of accessories with the $800 off pre-order deal?

Yes, you get the deal when you get the device like every previous phone. You register the phone in the Samsung member app and you get the credit to buy.

Today I went to a corporate store to have my watch activated. I just knew I'd see the new S22 devices ...not one. All they had was the S22 poster over the display where they were supposed to be ..with the S21 phones.

The first store I went to on Feb 9th and 10th had the same setup. I was able to see the burgundy at BB and a corporate AT&T store. Although I'm pretty sure about my color choice, I'd still love to see the green in-person since burgundy was darker in-person to me.

On everyone's order page, does it show that the order is on hold like this? Im just trying to make sure I dont have to do any additional steps.Screenshot_20220212-202725_Chrome.jpg

Samsung has added AT&T's promo to their ordering site. So I cancelled my AT&T order and placed an order for the same phone on Samsung. This is how it breaks down for me:

$1249 - S22 Ultra 512g
+ 45 - S7 trade-in
- 800 - AT&T trade-in (credited against installment payments)
- 125 - Rakuten cash back
$ 369

Plus 45w fast charger and Galaxy Buds Pro courtesy of Samsung instant credit
Plus retaining S20 Ultra 512g with 256g SD card for back-up or resale

I feel that I did okay in the deal.

My S22 Ultra just shows "ordered" with the phrase "expected to ship on Feb. 24th". Nothing has changed since February 9th except the pre-authorization pending hold of $72 for the sales tax has disappeared from my card.
