Here's the AT&T instructions it came in the Note20 Ultra Box, plus the signature agreement already went with the trade-in, so not sure why all of you didn't get it.

Nope you did do it right like i did, it's also how I've done it for years. Which of course you did same procedure, for years

The saga continues. Got a better rep today who indicated my materials were sent on 8/20 and should be received by tomorrow. They indicated that if I do not receive, call back and they will resend. The process remains unclear as she then directed me to the trade in site to fill in all the details about the trade in phone. I explained that the instructions didn't require me to do any of that and that when I ordered the phone there was nothing indicating it had to be done. She suggested taking pictures of the trade in phone, the imei screen, the offer details on the note 20 deal, the package and the label. She also said to put the phone in a box. She was very helpful but I definitely got the feeing No one knows exactly whats going on with this promotion. This is definitely a third party contractor for ATT so they are not informed on the deals which is contributing to the confusion.

Right but those of us who had their phones drop shipped from samsung directly didn't receive this paperwork. Therein lies the problem.

Oh i never indicated that you guy's were wrong, but someone did mess up lol just saying, either AT&T or Samsung but one of them did mess up.

This is the At&t Next upgrade. This is different from the trade-in/new line $1000 credit promo they are currently running.

The At&t Next upgrade is with your current device when you pay at least 50% of its price off, you can trade it in for a new device.

With their current promo you can trade in any device as long as it has a $60 or more value.

Two totally different promos/trade-in offers.

Mine is a next upgrade trade in promo. Trading in iPhone 7 that is worth at least $60, and get the $1000 credit. No new line. We did not receive that paperwork as above in the box, and most of the time people don't which is why AT&T said to not use the ones in the box.

I’m doing this trade in BUT I want to change the trade in phone (iphone x) to Samsung S8 or something not an iPhone. Can this be done? I should get my Note 20 Ultra by Friday. Thanks

You have to contact AT&T if your gonna do a switch.

Ok, so I am thick into the set up of my new phone and making sure I set it up like the old and all the data will be moved/preserved and not thinking of the Trade-In part...

Looking at the E-mail that was sent to me from AT&T on August 20th, it says, Step 1 - Receive AT&T Trade-in shipping materials within 7 days...

So that mean I should get my shipping labels by tomorrow latest, right??

The email says once receive the email, put it in the bubble mailer and return with 30 days.

Can someone tell me... 30 days from when?? 30 days from receiving the phone?? 30 days from this email on August 20th??

Depends which deal. For the trade in deal you don't because you didn't even identify what phone you are sending them. When I purchased i provided no information on the trade in. You just have to send them any qualified phone.

Cool. Thanks. With the traveling when my phone was delivered last week I actually didn't power it on until just this past Tuesday and about to out of town on business next week so I wanted to make sure I had time.

Question... Doesn't matter if I used my SIM from my Note 8 instead of the supplied SIM to be considered activated right?

I tried to use the SIM shipped with the phone but it said it wasn't valid in some way... forgot the message. So I just popped in my old SIM like I always do when I get a new phone.

Right just making sure he covers everything to be safe for the trade in AT&T can sometimes be weird that's why i suggest to call them if he already placed and order with one of the phones and was deciding to do a different exchange phone.

I did mine through AT&T Corporate store. I just went in the store and told them about my pre-order and they just logged into my account and completed the process and gave me a trade-in receipt confirmation of $60 value for the $1000 credit. Technically I should've waited for the return package by mail but I rather do it in person just in case. This is my first time doing trade-in through AT&T.

I did the same thing, quick and easy.

The sim that comes with it has to be activated by calling at&t. But you can swap sims and you'll be fine. That activates it.

I believe its 30 days from receiving the new device. Not activation. I used my old sim not the new one.

As an aside, i did one of these deals for an iPhone about a year ago. I put the phone in my closet for my kids birthday which was about 45 days away and never activated it. ATT never charged me for the phone. According to customer service because I didn't activate it they completely lost track of it. I tried to pay for it but they said it couldn't be done and just keep the phone.
