AT&T S10+ not getting software updates?

USA Unlocked Amazon with ATT sim card from an ATT iPhone bought two years ago. Lacks some features but no ATT software. Cost less, prefer to pay it off upfront and not have monthly payments.

Just got Aug security update.

Samsung handles Android from Google and then ATT tests and qualifies the carrier support.

Project Treble helped isolate core OS from carrier. Samsung though makes additional changes to Android which is why there are delays on the Android side.

ATT support always took an hour for seemingly simplest question.

I'd go Amazon unlocked or for someone (my age. 73), go iPhone.

My AT&T S10+ is still on the February security update. Getting really frustrated about it. I've never had this issue before on my many Samsung Galaxy phones (S5, S7, S8, and S9+).

That's really strange. I've been getting monthly updates on my S10 from AT&T.

Re: AT&T S10+ not getting software updates?

I agree - very, very strange. I may try a factory reset when I have the time to see if it fixes the issue. But I believe that someone above in this thread already tried that and it did not fix the issue.

Back in June, I called AT&T Customer Service and they said there was nothing that they could do and told me to call Samsung. I called Samsung and was told that there is nothing that they could do and to bring it or send it to one of their service centers to have it reflashed. I don't have a service center near me and I'm not going to send it in.

I also tried clearing the phone's cache and that didn't help either.

I may try to call Samsung again to see if they have anymore info on this issue. I also wonder if I can just take it into an AT&T store and exchange it since it is obviously still under warranty.
@jeeves744 or @Philipmom, have you resolved this issue yet? If so, how?

Nothing changed here. AT&T refused a warranty exchange because they said it's not their fault. Samsung wanted it mailed in for repair, but there's nothing physically wrong eh the device. My dad has serious health issues and cannot be without a working service nor drive 3 hours to the nearest Samsung center.
I can't believe AT&T finds this acceptable. I even got better updates living in a remote area of Alaska than my dad does in a suburban area by a major city. Looking at getting him the next pixel.

Thanks for the update on this. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to get this problem resolved yet. I'm disappointed that AT&T wouldn't do a warranty exchange for you. This is all very discouraging...

I just got the August update yesterday if that means anything on at&t.
Thanks for the info.

Still no updates for me.

I called Samsung this past Friday to see if there was anything they could do for me without having me send the phone to them or taking it to a service center. Of course there is no way to fix the problem remotely.

To make matters worse, the guy I talked to initially said I was on the latest version of Android and One UI and had to convince him otherwise. Then he kept telling me that the updates come from Google and not Samsung so there was nothing that they could do.

Complete utter frustration!

I am almost frustrated enough to switch to an iPhone!
- Just kidding! I know that living with iOS on my phone would be even more frustrating!

But, when does the new Pixel come out? :-)

Did not know my post was still going. My update is ATT store said to call samsung. I reached out to samsung and they said its ATT's problem. Taked to ATT online and they saidcthey could push the update but i did not have the account pin handy. I need to contact them again to see if it works and will post back on the results

If you guys need tutor to flash through Odin let me Know. Don't look like you'll get much help from either Samsung or Att

whether or not you had the account pin handy, they still could have pushed it after asking you a few questions. I never remember my pin when I call and they have always helped - even registered my note 10+ when I was getting errors trying to do it online without a pin.
