AT&T to Ditch 2 Year Contracts on January 8th

We were told that the corporate stores are on a different system and could process Next plans. If we wanted the two year, we would have to do it over the phone.

I got my 2 year contract pricing processed over live chat.

I don't want to have to do a next plan. I was ok with the lower price for a 2 year contract renewal. I can't afford to drop 600-700 on a new phone either and don't want to add another 40.00 to bill for doing the next plan. We have the grandfathered unlimited data and do no want to lose it. So my husband and myself guess we will be using out S5 until it dies.

Try contacting retentions via chat on att.com. That is how got a Galaxy S7 at the 2 year contract price. I gave the rep links to bestbuy.com with the Verizon and Sprint editions of the phone. It took alot of back and forth. I am in the same boat since I have the granfathered unlimited data with 1500 text bundle for $39.99 before my employers discount. My bill is $70 with taxes and fees so I can't find another provider with non throttled until 22 GB for $70 a month with taxes and fees and be Sprint based.
