at&t update question

I just inadvertantly downloaded an update from att. It didnt indicate what the update was for.
Im running I777, android ver 2.3.4, kernal ver 2.6.35.7

any idea what it might be as now im stuck with a notification for me to do something!

Just update. They're usually bug fixes. You'll most likely be better off.

It's the 2.3.6 update, which was released quite a few months ago. Usually, when at&t prompts you to update, it's always a good idea to go with it, but for this specific case, the 2.3.6 build has been known to have wifi related battery issues. People who update to it complain about their battery life being significantly shorter if they have wifi on (but no issue if they leave wifi off).

With that said, the update most likely has security improvement or other things that are positive, so it's a trade off. I do think though that if you eventually plan on going to the upcoming ICS update, you should update.
