AT&TNote 3 - Friday, September 27th @ Best Buy???

I finally just went to AT&T to preorder, but the guy told me the release date was Oct 1st and I wouldn't have any problem getting a phone day 1. Said they would have plenty day 1. Can't wait!

Talked with the local BB store manager today about this. He spend probably a half hour searching internal documents about new products trying to find info. He only found one reference to it being available on Sept 27 which was the original announcement for pre-orders to start back on Sept 6th. He took what I was saying and passed it on to someone (or so he said) at corporate. He didn't give me a deffinate yes or no on the 27th though. His thought was that it was very possible since allot of BB's have the Samsung stores in them now. He said that with who he passed the concern to it would either be confirmed or they may remove it from the site. We will see.

AT&T sales rep I talked to on the phone today had no idea about the BB release date. Told me the Note 3 ships out Oct 1st for preorders.

That's what confuses me. I was told that the release date and ship date for Best Buy are one in the same. That is their rule. Meaning pre-order pickups should be ready Friday while the phones will ship for BestBuy.com orders on Friday for delivery Monday or Tuesday.

I have been asking AT&T why they can't inform us as to whether the pre-order crowd will receive their phones on release day or at least coincident with the date they're available in stores. If enough folks contact them, maybe an answer would be forthcoming.

Worst case, I'll hit BB on Friday and pick mine up. Then I'll simply send the AT&T unit back to them (as thanks for stellar customer service) ;-)

I went in to preorder on Monday which I know is way later than most have preordered, and the gentleman told me that the phone would release on Tuesday Oct 1st and not to bother, as I wouldn't receive the phone until later. I have my reservations with Best Buy getting this phone on Friday, but I'll call them on the 27th to make sure. If so, I surely hope they match AT&T's price of $729.

Yeah the price match is going to be key for me. I went in and spoke with the Best Buy phone guys yesterday. They said first of all that they were unaware of the 27th release date. I had to show them on my phone. One guy there then looked into their system and told me that he did see that date there, but that they had no stock yet. He did say that he would not be surprised though if they did get it in. If the do, he told me that they would likely get stock this Wednesday or Thursday so if I call back and speak with him he will check for me.

Now as to the price matching. That will be the key. He said in general Best Buy usually charges more than the carriers to buy the phones off contract because they do not want you to do that. They want you to sign a contract. If i do come in to try to get it off contract though once it is available, he would speak with his supervisor to try to get a price match, which they technically have to do now as it is the corporate policy.

So basically, a lot of big ifs....we will see. I am trying to not get my hopes up too much though.

Did he imply that Best Buy could sell the phone once in stock on or before that date then? Did he talk about following the original October 1 date regardless?

He stated that if they get them in stock, they should be able to sell them on the 27th as that was the date he was seeing in their system. He said that they usually get the stock one to two days prior and that their system will not allow them to sell prior to that date, but that I could call and ask if they had gotten the shipment in yet or not.

I'm not entirely sure how it works, but you'd think they'd match the price of AT&T no questions asked, seeing as a sales a sale. I'll give them a ring on Friday, and see what they say.

Just checked the best buy website and there is no release date!

It still shows 9/27 as the release date here.

What are the chances this thing is in AT&T stores on Friday? 50/50, 80/20, Keep dreaming?

9/27/13 showing here.

I asked on the AT&T Facebook page about if BB is going to start selling their Note 3 on 9/27 and what they're doing for pre-order customers who were considerate enough to keep their business with a corporate store and their employees instead of going to a retailer. I'm getting some BS response about how to track my order... SMH.

I definitely saw the date removed as well and gave up all hope but now it's back. I don't know what to think. BB is just playing games with me now...
