AT&TNote 3 - Friday, September 27th @ Best Buy???

I just called my local AT&T corporate store (Colonial ave in Fort Myers Florida) and the lady stated "We will have them on display to look at tomorrow, 9-27, but they will not be available for purchase in store until Friday the 5th (Friday is actually the 6th, so I am not sure if she meant Friday the 6th, or Thursday the 5th?). I will go there on Tuesday morning and check again, because she only read what was written down, nobody there knew for certain.
Wow that just seems crazy. Oct 1 was the reported release date. It was reported on, lol. Why they would have some to show but not sell even on that date makes no sense. It's like I'm taking crazy pills!

I spoke with a samsung rep at Best Buy on Tuesday night and he told me BB would not have nor sell until October 4th. He also indicated the release date is Friday the 4th. He was surprised to hear about the online store showing a September 27th release date and he said it was most definitely wrong and that BB would not have them until late next week. I can't say this is good news as I was hoping to have the phone late this week or on Monday at the latest, but at lease pre-orders should receive their phone a one or two days sooner than walk-in consumers.

Good sources! Thanks for this. I'll just let it ride next week and if it comes sooner than Friday and they're allowed to sell I'll get an email I guess. It's here when it's here. Disappointing to get jerked around by BB so much though but not surprising.
 
So pre-orders and phones for sale OTC should both arrive that day then? Looks like I have a cancellation to make at Best Buy tonight. There's no other reason for me to keep my pre-order there. Besides, they screwed up my plan and I was without texting for a couple days the last time I had them do anything for me.

Both my husband and I have grandfathered unlimited data plans and have yet to have any of our talk, texting, or data plans screwed up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one isn't messed up, either. However, when I was chatting online while trying to do the pre-order (I was having trouble with selecting "keep my current data plan" and the site wouldn't load the next page) the AT&T rep tried to pull a fast one on me by telling me to select the $24 unlimited data plan (that didn't include texting which I have unlimited for as well...). So be sure to research everything before making your selections. I ended pre-ordering in person because of this.

Smart move, I would guard your unlimited data like a hawk!
 
So I canceled my in-store pre-order because I wanted the phone shipped straight to my house and not a corporate store. I went online and placed another pre-order with my shipping address. It's showing it'll ship out Oct 1 via FedEx 2-day shipping.

I was told by AT&T the same thing, but they said why preorder, when you can purchase day October 1st, vs. shipped Oct. 1st. Good luck on getting your device.
 
All this uncertainty is why I never plan on getting anything electronic on launch day anymore. Its all the same BS from just about everyone except apple. Apple has the power. Android has the power as well but android is not a device. So the power is split between all the different manufacturers which really means they have no power. Apple says jump, everyone jumps.
 
Best Buy site now says (Release Date: Friday, October 4, 2013) for AT&T - Sprint versions.....Verizon instore the 4th

I chatted with an online sales rep who said they'd be available in-store on October 1st. I asked her why AT&T isn't shipping out the device to pre-order customers early so they can have it the same day as people who just walk in. She doesn't know... Glad to see AT&T treats pre-orders this way.... Ridiculous.

I know I had no problem walking in store day 1 to get a GS4. I'm hoping this is no different, but I agree a pre order should be given first priority. There's really no incentive to pre order if everyone gets their device later than walk in customers. I would cancel if you haven't already, and just be a walk in like I'm doing.

She proceeded to tell me online orders couldn't be cancelled?!? I'm working on getting it cancelled now, then I'll just walk into the store on release day and get one. I shouldn't have a problem, everyone and their mother are iPhone junkies where I live. I'm just really disappointed with AT&T right now--that they'd treat people who bothered to pre-order this way.

Respectfully, they haven't done anything wrong... yet. Hopefully we'll see our preorders ship out by tomorrow. I'm hedging my bets and if I don't see mine ship in time for an Oct 1st delivery, I'll just pop into BB or AT&T and pick one up. I have scheduled a 10am Tuesday appt at AT&T just to be sure. If they can be had on Oct 1st I'll have one. I have no problem taking back my preorder if they elect to ship that for a post Oct 1st delivery.

I talked to an att sales rep last night to change my order speed to overnight shipping, they said I could but they would have to cancel my order and wait 24hrs then re order. So that is weird the person said they wouldn't cancel it for you..

I don't know what the deal is, but I'm going to follow snc0921's advice and give it another day. If I don't get a shipping confirmation sometime tomorrow, I'm going to cancel and just go a corporate store Tuesday to get one.
 
I called 2 of my local corporate AT&T stores this afternoon. Both told me they would have the phone in stock for sale on October 1st. I asked one guy about stock and he said," Don't worry about it. The only thing that we have ever had that sells out on day one is the iPhone. It won't be a problem." Sounds good to me.

I also chatted online with AT&T about preordering. All they could tell me was that it would ship out on or around October 1 depending on their inventory and how many orders they have to fill blah blah blah.
 
Just called two corporate stores and got the same answer from both! They both said they did not have a release date which is strange becasue yesterday they told me Oct 1st! The second person went a little further and said that its possible for people that pre-ordered through at&t could get there phone before at&t got theres but would not be able to activate the phone until the at&t stores got theres! The story is changing everyday! Going to bb to cancel my pre order with them since they will not be getting the phone on the 27th like the site originally had sad! Looks like I'll heading to the corporate store should have went there from the start!
 
I think this is a pretty big launch, Well it is to me cause I want the phone lol, Seems like no store/sales rep has the same answer or really 100% knows what the hell is going on. I feel like if stores get the phones on the 1st. Pre orders should be sent.out tomorrow or monday so everyone gets the phone same day. Makes no since to pre order online if you have to wait longer. .
