ATT Galaxy S4..Just Received An Update

Didn't expected such a fast update from Samsung. Nice...
Waiting to see an update for lock screen widgets.

I didn't have an issue with lag on this one.. but I'm not sure if it's just me, but the camera seems more sharper? lol I was going to return this phone because i thought my pictures were kind of grainy (on both the front and rear cameras and didn't have this problem with the first S4 I had).. but after the update, it either went away, or my eyes were just blurry LOL..

but things are smooth and fast as usual :) but I think i might just bite the bullet and return this and wait for the 32GB.. (i can't decide yet, but have a couple days to decide)..

It's cool that everyone is geting thier updates. I got mine from Tmobile this morning and I'm loving it.

Loving what exactly? I haven't really noticed any changes as of now.

My phone stuttered a lot, especailly when closing apps. When I played videos is was a little choppy. The whole experience was frustrating becuase it was doing it more than older Android phones I had in the past. Now the animations are smooth and the videos are normal. I was seriously thinking about returning it after watching reviews and reading other people say they had no lag. I've installled Nova launcher and it's even better now.

no one has mentioned it, but is there any potential for this update to mess with djrbliss's unlock method? I could have sworn I saw somewhere that updating it could cause the method to not work. We're still a few weeks away from his release

Agreed as to camera. Opens instantly.

As a new Android user, I thought the lag time for my camera to open up was due to the "lag time" issues posted lately. The AT&T upgrade this afternoon seems to have corrected that. I"m much happier with my GS4 now. I like my GS4 but am looking for reasons to trade it for an HTC One before my trial period is over. The camera issue was big with me. Getting a quick pic comes in handy for a whole variety of reasons. I'm liking my GS4 more and more :)

Regards

Is anyone rooted after this update? I know this update is for ATT but there is discussion that the recent TMo update prevents root at the kernel level. Would be interesting to know if ATT has done the same thing with their update as well.

I had set SuperSU to do "survival mode" prior to update. I'm still rooted after.

There's always the whole "It sux cuz its plastix" standby.

I don't understand people like that. After owning the evo 4g lte, i hate metal phones, takes the moisture out of your hands, always cold, fear of bending in pocket, forgot how much i missed plastic till i got the gs4

Anyways looking forward to sprint getting this update, the transition lag is bugging me

Looks like the plastic thing got scrapped. Now it's "My uncles barbers pharmacist says 4.2.2 is coming to the One soon". That's more entertaining, anyways.

Did it fix the horrible "wake lock" issue and the horrid SMS application? I have a GN2 and hopefully something comes soon to fix these issues. SMS has been a problem since GS2

Because of Zoe right? I have thought about that too, but I just can't see getting a phone for one feature.

Thanks for the heads up guys! I have the AT&T S4 and I'm downloading a 21.39MB update. Glad to see from what people are saying that this fixes the gallery app. Very impressed with how quickly Samsung got this update out.

Edit: Just got done installing the update and playing around with the phone a bit. The gallery app is fixed, and I'am noticing a good increase in the snappiness of the device. Very good update.

Not that this means anything really but got a small bump in AnTuTu from 24634 to 25911
Using the stock samsung browser sunspider went from 1093.0 to 1037.6
