*** att ics 4.04 bug report thread***

My battery life was terrible until I factory reset.

I really think people should not be allowed to post about "bugs" until they reset their phone. It's pretty much common sense. NO, I didn't want to do it, but we all know how Samsung devices work. If you don't reset, expect issues.

My phone was draining 1% battery with the screen on and doing nothing on it every 1.5-2 minutes before I factory reset it. Yes, I could literally look at the screen and see it count down. It was that bad. Did a reset and everything is normal now.

I don't get any keyboard lag. Have SwiftKey, but using stock keyboard cause there's no reason for me to use SwiftKey at the moment (plus it thinks it knows too much and basically causes me to type slower :-( ).

@n8ter - After you did the factory reset, what did you do next? Do I have to reinstall ICS? Thanks,

Some of my bluetooth devices are having to pair when I launch programs that use it. However, the system/bluetooth still shows that they are paired. I have one device that will ask to be pair several times. I didn't have these issues with GB.

Starting to notice spotty GPS. This is affecting one of my Fitness Tracker apps.

Spotty GPS
Bluetooth issues

I just got off the phone (land line) with AT&T and Samsung. Samsung admits there are issues, one of which is battery draw. They indicated they are 1) aware of the issues, 2) awaiting an update from Google and, 3) when received, will work with AT&T to get it out, most likely via OTA (over the air), ASAP.

I am wondering why Samsung says they are waiting on Google when the leaks have no issues with battery drain. Of course all of the ATT crap is stripped out.....

All the more reason to stick with my custom rom. It's more stable.

apps like netflix and youtube open slower and load videos slower. watching videos through apps like mx players crashes. phone feels slower after the ICS update

first of all GPS is laggy.. sometimes works sometimes don't! When i go to sound menu to adjust ringtone or notific. volume it plays music. ( see youtube link) [YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5oN-_9aaGQ[/YT]

And i when i take a screenshot it copies it to the cliapboard and theres not way to clear it!?

Is internal an external SD cards safe on a factory rest or do you have to back everything up?

yeah its safe.. even usb storage is safe on factory reset. Read carefully it asks to format or not.

screen capture is random

No it's not, you just have to get used to pressing the buttons correctly. It is quite a pain having to press power and a capacitive button. They should have used Power and Volume down like HTC did on the Vivid. That worked much better. Sony has it as a Long Press power option on the Ion, which is superior to both HTC and Samsung's implementation.

Nope. Once you update, the only way to go back from ICS is to root your phone and flash Gingerbread back onto it. It was ICS and it just came up like a new phone that came with the firmware pre-installed (installing bloatware and whatnot XD).

To the person with the Note above, not doing a factory reset before testing the update and sending it back is a bit naive. Even on WP7 I had to Factory Reset after the Mango update due to issues that popped up during the update, but disappeared after a reset (Push Notification issues, Lag, etc.). This stuff should be well-known by now :-P GB to ICS is a pretty major upgrade. Much moreso than Eclair to FroYo or FroYo to GB, IMO.

Better to format it since data persists from old app installations which may be leading to issues. When I first updated I had services crashing everywhere until I cleared everything, format my internal SD Card (External is just media and documents media scanner scans it and I'm good) and factory reset the phone.

Everything went away, then.

Those of you that have experienced poor battery life and freezes, I think I found a solution. I noticed that after I used the voice command app or the voice talk app and closed it by using the back button, my battery would start to drop like a rock. It was as if the app was still running. The solution at first was rebooting the phone, but, then I realized that opening the multitask window by holding the home button and swiping to close out that app fixed the issue. It seems like they may have some bugs with the new multitasking that keep apps alive even if you "Close" them out by hitting the "Back" button. Never was a problem in GB. Hope this helps some of you.

Ever since ICS upgrade I've had problems opening up txt messages that say download. I push the download and it just hangs saying downloading. Is this a setting problem?

so far....
1.GPS wont connect without a restart and Nav just shuts down.
2.Random freezes
3.Wont give password option for new bluetooth devices
4.Slow and jerky
5.Battery life is not as good
6.Signal strength is poor
7.One time only....something hung up, phone got hot and ate most of the batterys charge, over an hour period.

Wish I would have never done it. Was ROCK SOLID before update.

1. GPS is not working at all at times , other times it will work but very slow.
2. It will not work with my 2012 Ford F150 sync system (bluetooth problem) I have spent 9 hours and can get it to work right . Been on the phone with ATT and samsung wh no results , they don`t have any solutions. I wish I could just go back to gingerbread , it worked perfect for me.

If someone can help me with this please let me know. Did a soft rest and a full factory rest and no change at all. Should I try to reinstall ICS again?

I'm loving it, the only thing is that I don't get an sms text preview at the top of the screen on the lock screen. When the phone is unlocked I do get the preview. Anyone else have this bug? Thanks.

Dunno if this is a bug or not but, before with Gingerbread, whenever i download a picture from the net and i go to my albums, the newly downloaded stuff is always on top. After ICS, i have to go looking for it on my albums as it does not appear on top. Some do, some do not. This is very irritating especially if i downloaded a wallpaper and i have to scroll through all my pics just to find the one i just downloaded. I went and did a factory reset after ICS hoping this would solve it, but no dice. I can't seem to find a setting for it. :-\

I am having a similar problem with my Toyota Tacoma Entune system (Bluetooth) I have to repair the phone everytime I get in my truck

I've got ICS 4.0.4. Isn't fast battery drain normal when running on LTE? When I'm home I use wifi and battery drain isn't horrible.
