Att samsung s6 6.0 marshmallow

Changed the day ahead one day and it started downloading. Thanks for the tip.

Update: it takes about 2 hours to download, be patient. The phone seems to run faster.

My download seemed to get stuck too. Toggle wifi off, go to the app manager and locate the ATT SOFTWARE UPDATER and clear cache, turn wifi back on... it finished in 10 minutes.

For me, it took about 2 hours from start to finish. Only complaint I have is the lock screen. Prior to the update when I woke up the phone it would immediately show me the pin pad to enter my pin. Now, I have to swipe in order to get the pin pad to display. Other than that, don't see much difference. I let phone run down and now fully charging it. Will see how the battery life is.

I feel the same way, I have a Note 5. Eight months later, no Marshmallow update. I will be getting the new Nexus 6. No more phones through AT&T

Themes are not working. The home screen should have the time/date and weather per the theme screen shots. For me I'm just getting a background.

Seems smoother but battery life still sucks. If anything seems even worse than before and I have checked all settings to make sure nothing new is draining.

Phone is smoother like everyone else has reported but my battery life so far is only 60% better. Loving that I can finally use the new emojis tho!

My S6 definitely runs smoother. Haven't really tested the battery life, so time will tell...

Had to factory reset to fix my themes issue as well as get the phone and ZenWatch to pair. Running very smooth as reported by others.

First day of use after the update, and it would appear that cell standby battery usage is less for low signal problems. My office gets bad signal; I show up at work with 100% battery, and from sitting on the desk all day, with maybe 30 minutes of screen time, it would be around 30% at the end of the day. Today, it was about 80% at the end of the day. Very noticeable improvement.

Has anybody tried Video Calling yet? My son's S6 fails to establish Video Calls. HD Voice Calling works.

This is a dumb question, but where oh where do we find ram management now? Do not see it in app manager and had to dig for it.

I did the OTA update yesterday to 6.0.1 (AT&T) ... I really like the new look of the settings/shade pull-down, and the changes to the default samsung mail app and the messaging app. The phone definitely feels snappier as I use it, but I haven't noticed any real difference in battery life ... seems about the same to me.

I also have gone through every setting I can find to turn off anything/everything I don't use, so maybe that will help with battery life now, but will have to monitor over the next few days to see.

One thing I noticed right away that I do NOT like ... the fact that I have to type in my password to get into my phone after a reboot. I have no idea what this "logic" is about making you do that after a reboot to "protect your fingerprints" ... but it's really a PITA and wish they would remove that or give you the option to turn that requirement off.

Another thing is, they seem to have removed that wonderful little clock/weather widget from the lock screen, and now it's just the clock. I can live with that, but I'll miss the weather being on there too on the lock screen.

Other than that, all my apps seem to be working fine, running smoothly, etc. No glitching that I've found yet.

phone is very snappy after update. just opening/closing, searching through the gallery, much faster. Here's my take:
Pros
  • reaction time is much faster, it's "snappy"
  • search in gallery is smoother, faster and more fluid
  • love the plasma animation burst when plugging in charger, even better when using a wireless charger
  • battery life "seems" to be better, non-specific, just looks like it's lasting longer
Cons:
supposed new Samsung browser is faster, so far it hangs a little longer and sometimes is just blank, needing to close tab and reopen a new tab

That's all I got so far, love the new emoji's. I updated my minimal theme an it looks pretty good.

I haven't noticed much so far, but I just downloaded it today. Galaxy S6, AT&T. It took over an hour which is crazy long, imo. My themes changed, but not anything bad. Access to Google from your home button is pretty cool. New emojis are always fun, still none that looks like an eye roll...lol. My battery life still sucks so far and I swear I close out everything I can, constantly. I hate the battery. My browser was having the "blank" issues before the update so I'm hoping it helps. I haven't read enough specs on the update yet to make a complete review....still learning. But I always love updates to find the little goodies they leave us.
