As the title says, when the phone loses signal audio pauses, and when the phone regains a signal it pauses again. The pause lasts for about a second. I have noticed this issue now with both the Rhapsody app and Doubletwist. I haven't tried the default music app. Just wondering is anyone else has this issue.

I use PowerAmp and i think this happens because the device is using a lot of processing power when it looses signal and re-connects.
I have noticed at other times (right around the time my email is scheduled to poll) my music will cut out for a second and then start right back up. In the past i just attributed it to a hard working phone.

This is a common annoyance, apparently, among Android devices.
Paul627g has said, when he's got the time to do so, that he'll be checking this phone event out in hopes of tracking down where in Android the sound/pause is coming from.
With ringer on, music pauses momentarily and you get the little bleep-bloop sound. With ringer off, no sound, but same pause.
Annoying as all hell!

I don't think it's CPU utilization related - I've tried running many apps at once to reproduce and have not been able to do so. However, I can reproduce coming out of airplane mode (interestingly going into airplane mode does not cause the pause)
I would *guess* that this is some kind of system or kernel bug, if it is indeed an issue among Android handsets, not just the Epic in particular.
My solution has been to just use airplane mode when I know I'll be in and out of service frequently (ie. on the subway)

Yes, I haven't forgotten the notification for loosing signal. I've been a bit busy this week, kids in their last week of school so my schedule has been a bit off. I will keep looking and if I come up with anything I will let you know. I can't promise any fixes for sure I know this problem with the notifications interupting playback of music, etc. has been around since the beginning of Android 1.5 from what I can tell from searches. So this is something that Google has repeatedly ignored or hasn't come up with a fix for.

It seems signal related to me too. I only experience it enough to notice while driving and listening to something like a podcast.
I have noticed that it occurs much less if I turn Wi-Fi off while driving.
