Sprint will release the phone when it's ready for release not any sooner. I said it would probably be September. I spent time with the device I know I will get one, I could care less if it comes out tomorrow or next year. Oh and I have been in the technology field for 25 years so I have some knowledge. I was able to do some beta testing with the epic and as much as I like the evo I believe the epic will be better. I can wait for it since it will be a month or 2 before I am able to purchase it.
So you just want a bug-free phone? Well, by next year, Samsung will probably abandon the Galaxy S phones for Galaxy S Xtreme sporting an RGB Pixel Matrix Hyper Amoled screent that has super long lasting organic pixels that use the sun for power. Your back up battery will be a mini somehow eco-friendly plutonium battery that will run you 50 years before a recharge. Don't forget that the phone will have a quad-core 2.5 ghz processor!
Eh, this won't happen unfortunately. I could care less about small bugs. Just give me the phone soon! I can't stand the iPhone any longer![]()
You are so lucky that you got to use it. I can't wait until this bad boy comes out so I can see some legit (android central) reviews. I'm not getting a new cellular until about 4:52:27 on October 4th.
I don't care if it's bug free. I just won't be able to get it when it's released.
Respectfully, no smartphone is ready. All are released with some kind of bugs. Only massive flaws hold up phones. It is exceptionally rare that phones are reflashed with new rom between the boat from china and the customers hands.Sprint will release the phone when it's ready for release not any sooner. Availability from maker and market considerations are much more at play. There is no such thing as "ready for release" and the proof is in the pudding with the number of buggy phones sprint has released when demand is high.
As far as beta testing no one outside of Sprint and Samy has beta tested this. I have participated in many betas and follow sprints beta program. they haven't had third parties beta their phones in many years
Yes I had a great time with the epic, it pays to be in the know doesn't it.
Really? That's how you're going to act about it? A little pompous don't ya think... feels almost like, no maybe I'm reading too deep.
No I'm just trying let someone know that they don't know everything. Sorry if I offended anyone else.
I dunno, he made good points and that wasn't a very strong way of letting him know you really know anything. You're like me, a guy who got lucky at using the Epic early. But a stronger argument (and less obnoxious) would have been to probably address his points he made.
No harm...
I just LMAO at this person because he tries to push what he thinks he knows on everyone. It just doesn't work on me I have worked for Sprint since 1995 and I enjoy what I do. I had the epic for about 2 weeks during testing as I did the evo. They are both great phones. My wife has the evo on her account I have not been able to purchase one yet but now I'm going to get the epic when it becomes available a month or 2 after release.

I don't work for Sprint and I know that what he has said is not untrue (in terms of the returns / refurbs), everything else you guys are talking about is mere speculation, whether you work for them or not. Unless you know for certain (you keep stating it's your gut feeling but I can't be sure you're being coy or not) about a September release, the hold up is unknown.
I am thinking September by using the time frame the evo was in testing to the release date. The epic could have a shorter time frame since it isn't the first 4G device. It is speculation on my part.
4G on the device has been cleared by Sprint internal. In fact, Samsung went by Sprint's specs perfectly while HTC did not; HTC used a WiMax radio that could be used in Russia and Europe (if the proper radio is flashed) and Samsung's will only work here in the states.

LOL, man, pitiful.I have been with sprint since 1997 and they gave me an upgrade 2 months early for the Evo.
You have never even touched one. we can tell from your posts. What are you going on about. Now you are the beta tester for Epic here after not knowing a thing for so long and asking quesitons that showed you don't? LOLYes I had a great time with the epic, it pays to be in the know doesn't it.

Go look at your own posts under sel1965 over at Sprint users. Is that you? Hundreds of attacks on scores of users there and no facts. You also seem to be buying your phoens at Best buy, strange fore 15 year Sprint employee who is also claims to a "beta tester." You were asked basic questions on sprint users, like does it have a sim slot, last month you and didnn't know after claiming to be a beta tester?
