Just curious- how do you feel Evo is more appropriate for business?
Is there something lacking in the contacts/calendar/email applications or is it just the added social media integration? (Which I liked on my pre- and didn't find it got in the way of my business needs...)

Hard to explain if you haven't used both devices, but... I completely agree.
The Epic and TW feels more, FUN. Colorful... vivid. You're just playing around with a phone, yayyyyy good times to be had.
While the Evo has a drabber screen and it just seems like it's more oriented for work. Sense also gets contacts perfectly (although Froyo does too, IMO). It's not a knock on the Evo, it's just a large screen no nonsense monster.
Speed... well, I have only used a 2.2 Evo once, so I will go back and remember from when I had mine (2.1). They both feel the same in speed... Custom UI's are just heavy no matter what. Lemme put it in perspective... using Sense / TW, DOUBLES the ROM size. Android otherwise is fairly lightweight. I do think TW is easier to navigate then Sense, but Sense has a seriousness about it that just seems to make production easier. I think it's because when I used the Epic, I was so distracted all over place too. A.D.D. in overdrive.
Lets say hypothetically, I win one of the 10 Epics, what do I do with it if I buy one ahead of time?
1) sell on e-bay
2) sell on craigslist
3) use as a dev phone
4) give to my poor gf who is still using a pre and hating it
5) give to my mom who complains about her blackberry 8330m camera sucking... don't think she'll understand how to use this phone though.
6) raffle it off on here
Sorry to jump off-topic. Random thought I just had if they are going to release the phone before the contest ends. Anyways, back on topic: I hope this is true, my gf has her boards exam that day and it lasts 5 1/2 hours. This would give me enough time to get the initial giddyness out of my system while she takes the test and not annoy her with it.
There is a cash option that would give you the retail value so about $500

I am grabbing an EVO on Friday...And will get an EPIC in 2 weeks.... when they come out...
HTC Sense just brings all the business aspects of the phone together, IMO. I'm sure there are a few 3rd party apps to make the Epic similar.
I hope you don't have anything severe happen to you (like lose your job or something). We appreciate what you told us! I am getting this phone over the EVO for the QWERTY.. I use my phone for 90% business, but I have to have the best and specs-wise, this thing is the best smartphone out! (soon to be out for Sprint)
PS. Have you tried LauncherPro? that is supposed to be like Sense for any Android phone. I wonder if that would make it a bit more business optimized?

Don't go hanging your *** on the line. Send one of the mods a PM and ask for the thread to be deleted if you're risking something professionally. We definitely appreciate the insider input but I'm sure everyone would understand if the thread disappeared.

You mean if it comes out in two weeks. Just talked to guy over the phone in Sprint's sales dept they said it would not be out until Sept 15th, redialed the CS number talked to someone else said the exact samething, Sept 15th and there were suppose to be e-mails sent out today? I haven't got anything in either of my inboxes signed up with 2 different e-mails just to make sure.

You don't get heat from an anonymous forum.
You get heat from your boss when he figures out you posted confidential information to an anonymous forum.
How does your boss figure out it's you unless you post with your first and last name and have a boss that trolls forums all day long? Only way I can see him even knowing even if he was a member of the forum is by the shirt/pant combo he accidentally got in the picture, photoshop can fix that. Either way I don't see it happening.
It is honestly a lot easier than you think. Especially with the room he posted a pic of and mentioned it's a conference room, etc. Do you think thousands of employees at his office have the Epic demo units or a handful? hehe. I would bet money that just a handful have them.
