Authentic Leaks Compilation for the 5X and 6P

Re: Rumors & Leaks Compilation for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6Y

There shouldn't be any complaints about the 5X using the 808.

It was always going to be the 808 or 810. Eveleaks is at fault for hyping the nexus crowd with the 820 speculation and Gizmochina didn't help with the 620 rumors.

I think Qualcomm should have just holdout on announcing the new processors until later in the year.

I think Qualcomm finally put the rumors to bed with their press release Monday. They state first half 2016 .... never understood evleaks or anyone thinking the 820 would be in it ... the kirin 950 maybe could've

At this point, I'd have been more excited about the Kirin 950 than the 810 being in the phone.

Agree... totally... but some where screaming when it wasn't ONLY going to be the 808... saying they would not buy the new Nexus if it only had the 808.

The kirin 950 is definitely a big step over the 810.
This SoC will feature the first Cortex A72 and will use 16nm manufacturing process.
It's clearly in line with what we will see next year and I will be extremely surprised if we see a mobile with it before 2016.

It's just a matter of being patient for another year, I guess. It's tough though if you're me, because I have an S3, and I'm looking to upgrade.

Why wait?

Isn't that the same sort of fallacy that PC gamers fall into with their GPUs, though? There's always something newer and better on the horizon. The real measure should be whether or not your current device meets with the demands of your activities. If it doesn't then upgrade. Otherwise you're really just subjecting yourself to another year of not being able to get stuff done efficiently or effectively.

Example: For my job, I need my laptop to meet with certain requirements of productivity (including some light graphics work). At the point that I realized that I was spending too much time tied to a socket and waiting for it to boot up (and that it was costing me time), was the moment I went and bought a new laptop/phone.

Besides the raw specs, one should also consider the software side of things

- Stock Android, no bloatware
- 2 years of major updates guaranteed (Android M to O or 6.0 to 8.0)
- 3 years of monthly security updates guaranteed
- Well supported by the developer community (likely less app crashes)

That's intriguing, and a freaky change of heart for Google, if true. Android Police is certainly one of the more trustworthy web sources. I just hope their undisclosed sources aren't taking them for a ride.

If that's true, I'd expect the 32 and 64 GB versions to be priced affordably; unless 64 GB is the lowest tier.

If the nexus 6p is $500/$550/$600 and comes with a 5.7 inch screen and kirin 950 then it will be a great phone.

Heck even an 810 would be ok at those prices.

$600-$700 though not so much.

I doubt it's gonna start at $500 with a QHD screen, 13 MP camera and a high end processor, but who knows! I'd love for Google to prove me wrong.

Yeah, I'm not sure why people were expecting the bigger model to be be cheaper than the old Nexus 6 launch price tags.

- metal body, QHD, 810, fingerprint sensor, high storage options = not competitively priced

Re: [UPDATED DAILY; See OP] Authentic Leaks Compilation for the 5X and 6P

Personally I'm fine with the Nexus 6 prices (original) and think that a $600/$650/$700 Nexus 6P is great given the top specs.

BUT you need to consider the competition that's out there. A lot of great, top spec phones selling for $400-$500.

Re: [UPDATED DAILY; See OP] Authentic Leaks Compilation for the 5X and 6P

Anyone see the PocketNow hands-on video on the Huawei Mate S? It too has the 13MP Sony IMX278 with OIS. They weren't that impressed with the camera. Unless Google does a better job at the software image processing and/or has superior lens/aperture then it doesn't bode well for the 5X's camera quality. I guess we can't expect much from such a cheap phone. Camera is usually the first thing to be cut when going cheap (Moto X Play being the exception).

LG is doing the 5X

Huawei is the 6P

Yeah, but the actual sensor [Sony IMX278] is in the Huawei Mate S and is the most likely candidate for the 5X, based upon all the leaks and rumours thus far.

This isn't the first time I've seen lukewarm reception to the Sony IMX278. If I recall correctly, Anandtech reviewed a Huawei phone with the same sensor and concluded that, whilst great in low light, it couldn't keep up in broad daylight due to the RGBW pixel arrangement.

Ooooh ok I get you...

I assumed everything would be the same in the LG as the G4
