My N3 doesn't get dim enough in the dark on auto setting. What's the best app for auto brightness dim in the dark yet still super bright in daylight.

Beamed from my Galaxy Note 3

An app? I don't think there is one for brightness I may be wrong however

I use two...

Screen Filter (widget) that you set to a pre-set %. It just overlays a darker screen, does not actually dim the screen.

Night Filter to darken the screen, and overlay red to better try to keep my night vision.

Both are nice, but I don't rely on auto-dim - most situations for me are different, and I use a different level.

You'll have to try a bunch until you find the one that suits your needs. Cheers.

I found that I can just turn off Auto-brightness, and set the screen down to probably between 15 and 20%. Its still plenty bright in pretty much all situations. Sometimes I have to turn in up in the sun.
