Auto brightness issues? strange glitch?

The problem is take the edge into dark lighting, the display will darken. Under flurescent light the display looks amazing.
Just noticed! With the battery saving mode off and the brightness all the way up I was in the dark and it was dim. I took it outside and it got bright. It's not suppose to do that. I have it manual! There's something malfunctioning or it was just designed that way... Can a OTA fix that?

Is this really a problem I should worry about ..Was going to buy one tomorrow morning. The regular one doesn't have this issue?

Yes, I'd wait until a fix bc your going to have the same problem. The regular s6 is fine of you want that but every edge is messed up. It might require a recall on all of them if it can't be fixed ota

Here's my s6 Edge on the right and my wife's s5 on the left. Note that both phones are on max brightness and no battery saving mode... Once you move the phone to a lit room or outside the brightness goes higher. It's either a glitch or Samsung made it this way to conserve battery. I'm sure it can be fix with a OTA but if by the 13th day it doesn't get fixed I'm talking it back

Sheez..its always something with android..Its like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.

I spoke to Samsung, this is a fuk up. The regular s6 does not do this. This phone is not supposed to do this unless u want it to which is why they offer powersaving or auto brightness.

Yep...looks like an edge problem. Guessing the flexible screen inside has different properties.

What a shame... Nice phone but I'm taking it back. If the G4 doesn't wow me then I'll go with the regular s6

Okay try this test if you havent already. Set your phone to manual brightness at the highest level. Take a flashlight and put it on the the light sensor. Watch the phone instantly go to a super bright level. Take the light away and watch it go darker. Now remember, that higher level is supposed to be the highest level. I'd personally keep it at that highest level. Love the vivid look.

What did Samsung tell you? Did they agree with you? Did they tell you about a fix in the works?

You're totally right. Leads me to believe it's a glitch that can be solved with a OTA. I'm not taking any chances though... Im either returning it or getting the G4

I didn't get a straight answer yet bc today is the first day they became aware of the problem. When I hear something I'll let u know.

Im pretty sure this can be solved with an OTA update if not just return it as the product is technically faulty

Well, I'm taking back my Edge today after work. Just compared it with co-worker's iphone 5s and it blows the edge in the screen brightness department... Sucks really.

Hopefully they respond with a solution or the hope that it can be fixed through a software update. This appears to be a systematic problem across the board and they have no choice but to address it.
