Very welcome, just remember the following

Remember the following:

• HTC sync installed
• Use USB ports in the back of the computer
• Debugging mode on
• Phone in charge only mode
• When the process looks like its hanging its actually writing the file to your sd card so be patient
• READ the directions carefully.

Does it really matter if I use the USB in the back, because I have a laptop wiith side USB.Can i still use this method?

Im not a fan of laptop USB ports but yeah its fine. i say that because on computers the ones in the front are usually not fast enough and they act funny. But yeah its fine

That HTC Sync link in the OP is not working, is there a workaround?

So does this automated root skip the downgrade process that Cory wrote? That's what I'm assuming, but you know where assuming gets you. Ha...

Is there anything this leaves out from the manual process (besides time)?

this is the same process with the following exceptions:

• Do not have to transfer to sd card, or rename any files
• this installs super user application for you
• do not need to manually type any command
• prevents mistakes in commands and renaming process

Pros:

• prevents mistakes in commands
• prevents mistakes in renaming
• less key strokes

Cons:

• If you have a connection problem or do not have the phone in proper settings errors may occur
• A little harder to trouble shoot
• loose the adb learning experience

Congrats on coming up for an easy solution for rooting and unrooting i had to do it manually with the 9 steps lol, i got tired of waiting for unrevoked you actually beat them!

i would say about 25 mins, between the writing of the files and the time it takes to flash the operating system on your phone twice. Although i never timed it , if you feel like watching the clock that would be great.

thanks but it is the same as the manual method, its nothing special. just does all the typing and moving files for you.

well this will sound noobish but i downloaded the auto root(TB_Auto_root.rar) and when I go to unzip it(by right clicking) there is no option to unzip. When I try to open the file itself it tries to play the file with windows media player.

what am I doing wrong?

I just finished up my first attempt ever at a root. Took me right at 30 minutes. I did freak out a bit when I tried to reboot it and it didn't come on, I didn't realize you had to hold the power button down for a few seconds...

try EXTRACT

if there is still no option , try downloading winrar or 7zip

My windows 7 PC didn't have a unzipping program, I ended up downloading a trial for BitZipper to do the job.
