Just checking that you don't have the old version (though it still worked).

Did you press the power button once you were first taken to hboot?

If I remember correctly I don't think I did.

On the fastboot/hboot screen I thought the directions told me to unplug the phone from the PC and wait untill I saw some files that are checked. The checked files is what I was waiting for. Was I suppose to hit the power button to select fastboot and then the checked files appear?

got RM issues after auto root

@droidxcon

first off thanks for all the hard work, i've read the entire post over the last couple of days and you have definately helped everyboy above and beyond!

the prob I'm having is that rom manager will not boot into recovery or back up the current rom. I flashed it but still not working. I'm even having a hard time manually booting into recovery. got it to do it once so I did see that S-off is there. when I attempt to manually boot into recovery the vibrate goes crazy, when I did get into it i selected recovery hit power, and it just rebooted. It's driving me nuts..

I followed every instruction in this forum, downloaded Ti back up, problems, busybox, that helped because ti couldn't get permissions until I did. also, RM cant fix permissions, say there is an error running priviledged commands. shoot me some help brother.

EDIT: also I ran auto root from a different sd card, and re-installed the original card once completed, could this be affecting it?

Exactly. the directions are missing that step. When you first get to hboot bootloader should be selected, just hit the power button. Now you'll get to fast boot and the file will load

Thanks Forgetful for not living up to your screen name. I really appreciate it! As you can tell I am a noob at this. I will try again tonight.

exchanging my phone cause of issues. so if i unroot will this remove the hboot thing too?

Hboot is always there I'm pretty sure. It will remove the S-0ff in Hboot though. If you do the auto unroot it'll be back to stock and vzw will never know.

Don't get me wrong. This phone is great. I just miss the bright vibrant screen, thinness and light weight feel. I don't really know what to do. I signed a 1 year for the bolt so I'm not tied to it for too long.

I ran through the process this time without issue. But when I try to run shootme it says I don't have root access. I rebooted a few times with no luck. Should I try again?

Every time I try to extract the files it says

CRC failed in tb auto root pg05img_downgrade.zip
Tb Auo root rar: Unexpected end of archive

Any ideas?

how do i know if i have root or not?

i have gone through this process twice now each time after the first bootloader segment i do not get an option to reboot and have selected cancel update then am given the option to reboot. after the second bootloader segment it does not give me the option to "start update" it only says "press power to reboot" am i doing it right? HALP! please! thanks!

nope!

after the first round should i select "start update"? the instructions do not say to. just to "press power when prompted to reboot" but i don't get that option unless i select "cancel update" and i was nervous to press "start update"
on the second round though the instructions say "select start update"

thanks for swift response!
