Automatic Sleep Mode

I wanted to see if anyone knew what the triggers were for sleep mode to kick in.
I always leave my phone on, even when I sleep, but I found out that the phone "wakes up" an hour after I go to bed, then stays on all night. The "up time" was 7 hours when I woke up, and I had gone to bed 8 hours ago.
At work, I usually don't get text messages until I turn the screen on, so I know it falls into sleep mode, but phone calls will wake the phone up automatically, apparently. The unusual thing is that I use my phone every 30 minutes or so.
Why does it fall into sleep mode within just 30 minutes, but 8 hours of being untouched leaves the phone awake? Any clues to this mystery, Rezoundians?

There are so many settings on this thing I often get lost in the quagmire.

Perhaps it's the quiet time settings turning it on in the morning and some other power save setting for the thirty minutes?

Not sure what triggers the automatic settings, but I have mine set to manual and have input the times I would like it to sleep. You can change this under the power settings.

Yeah I'm doing that now. It'd be nice to have a toggle widget for it. I'm ok with the phone on sleep mode on the weekdays because I go to bed early and have work early in the day, but weekends I stay up late and use my phone late as well.
I know, it's not world-ending, but it's still a pain in the ass to navigate the menu each time just to change the settings.

I don't understand settings like these. With more and more people dropping home phones, why would we want our phones "asleep" in the middle of the night when there could be an emergency?

I agree. I'm planning to get this phone, but I don't know if it's worth having a Ferrari if you can't drive it. I don't want to have to turn everything off and rely on an extended battery.

I like to save all the battery I can so that I can play with it at work and not have to worry about charging in the middle of the day. Usually, I don't have to charge, which is nice.
Also, I'm up at 5am every day, so I don't really want anything waking me up. If it's an emergency, my girlfriend has her phone on vibrate right under her pillow, so she's the designated emergency call taker, I suppose.

You wouldn't leave a Ferrari running overnight, so I don't see why I couldn't have my phone on sleep mode, as I do with my computer.
But don't worry, the Rezound with a standard battery and 4G on still lasts longer than my OG Droid battery did. I'm just overly cautious with battery life.

The settings are user adjustable. Just turn sleep mode off if you like.

Not just this kind of requirement but for many other instances I use timeriffic free app. e.g. Move the phone to vibrate during my office time (mon - friday). Love that app.

I couldn't agree more!

I've had my Rezound set to Automatic in the "enable Sleep Mode" for the last 30 days. According to the users guide "Automatic....adjusts its sleep mode schedule over a period of time around what it detects as your bedtime". Wow, it must know now that when I scrub my teeth it's time for "sleep mode". Now going on my 5th day without a recharge using the standard battery and light to medium use. Brushing schedule has not changed. Hmmm :-\

i would imagine even while in sleep phone you will still receive a phone call

Yea...like at 5:30 in the morning...your boss calls and asks you if you can work on your day off. In sleep "phone" or just plain asleep should have never answered. :(
