Automatic unlock my google pixel 2

When i got my new phone , the auto unlock was great , it used to stop open in my van so i didnt have to fiddle trying to open itt while im driving, but all of a sudden its not working , so i tried to set it again and the option has gone from my phone

Make sure that you have a screen lock. Learn how to set a screen lock.
Open your device's Settings app Settings app.
Tap Security & Location and then Smart Lock.
Enter your PIN, pattern or password.

The SMART LOCK has disappeared from my setting, any idea's ??????

Did you add any device administrators or corporate e-mail accounts recently? Some of those restrict the security features of your phone, disabling 'unsecure' options (and for some companies, auto-unlock is unsafe, so it's disabled).

Add some info in case it helps.... I do have corporate email and they disabled my face unlock but it's still there. It just says "disabled by administrator" (or something like that). What the OP is saying is that it's non-existent.

Did I read that Google took away some aspect of Smart Lock and then either put it back or said they would put it back?

I can't say that's the answer though because I see all of the other Smart Lock options on my phone right now.

I've seen comments that some aspects of Smart Unlock have disappeared and then reappeared over the last month or 2. I do currently have Trusted Devices though.
