Hi,

I'm looking for an app/solution so that my mobile hotspot will automatically start when my phone connects to my car's bluetooth.

Now I have to open it manually and often I forget that (and my kids start nagging right away).

Thanks already!

Depends on what device you own. If you have a Samsung that supports Bixby Routines, that'll do just what you want. Set it up to Turn Hotspot on/off when it connects/disconnects from your car's BT connection.

Similar things can be done with automation apps like Tasker or IFTTT, but not sure if for Hotspot control you'll need root access as this is a system setting.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e. To be honest, I don't use Bixby so I'll make myself familiar with that first. Thanks a lot, SpookDroid. It is much appreciated!

You're welcome! Honestly Bixby sucks, but Bixby Routines is a godsend. I'm glad they're keeping it separate from the actual Bixby Assistant, but wish they would give that feature more attention.

Anyway, glad it helped! Now you can automate your tasks with ease :) Bogle Assistant has a similar feature but those routines aren't triggered by phone events, you have to ask Assistant to run them (i.e. 'Hey Boogle, good night!' and it'll turn off your lights, lock the doors and silence music).
