I am trying to root using the autoroot method

I have gotten to the point where it pushed the RUU, the program restarted itself and it keeps getting stuck at the hboot sum check error.

It says disconnect battery and restart from step 2. I have done that twice and it keeps giving me that error.

It also kept saying 'adb server out of date.....killing" and then "daemon started successfully" (im not sure if thats pertinent or not)

I had the same issue with the checksum error. I know a common problem is using the wrong USB port, so make sure you're using the primary USB port on your system.

Eventually, I used my gf's laptop, re-downloaded the file, and was able to successfully run the auto root.

I tried using a desktop that had windows xp running, and i tried it a few times using the ones in the back and even the front and kept getting the hboot sum error

I guess this phone wasnt meant to be rooted :(

i was having the same issue when i autorooted mine a few days ago... This fixed it tho, i quoted this from some dude from a youtube vid comment, so i take no credit for this..."I ran in to some trouble after the downgrade; the process kept failing at "Pushing RUU". I was able to get past it by manually moving the PG05img2.zip file to the SD card and renaming it PG05img.zip, removing that step and the following sleep from the batch script, and running it again (starting after the downgrade). Simple enough, if you're somewhat familiar with batch files and basic Android phone use. If not, find someone that is to do it for you if you're having trouble."

Do i move the PG05img2 file onto the root or the PG05IMG_downgrade cuz i tried with the first and got the same error

you move the PG05img2 file onto the root, then you rename it "PG05img.zip"... then double click on the sleep batch in the Autoroot folder, then when that closes run the MR1 autoroot again and press 2 to start from the downgrade...wait, you did get up to the downgrade part already right?
