Aux/headphone port skipping when playing music?

Try taking off your widgets one by one, especially battery widgets. Fixed it for me. Reproducible too.

Ill have to give the battery thing a try. I have batstatt installed. Tried airplane mode and still skipped. So far doesn't seem like a audio Jack problem, mp3 player problem because I dled poweramp player and Pandora and it still trips. I know its not a jack issue because I can play music videos without the sou.d issue.

Add 1 more to the skipping problem group.

It doesn't seem to skip when I listen to my music with the SiriusXM app. It only seems to skip when I listen to MP3's I have transferred.

I thought it was because I used the allshare wifi feature to transfer them to my phone but apparently not....

Dude you rock!!! Took battstatt off and now no more problems. Kinda sad tho as the text battery stat looked sweet on my homescreen. Looks like ill go back to systemtray. Its ridiculous while listening to music if I put the battstatt widget on it'll start skipping right away.

Yeah Gauge Battery Widget did it for me too, the 1*1 seemed ok but the bigger ones skipped. That and BattStatt were my fave battery widgets :(

I flashed this instead of running a widget

Battery Percentage! - Android Forums

Maybe test the 1*1 BattStatt?

My phones not rooted yet. Gonna wait a bit after the newness of the phone wears off.

I went and tried the 2x1 widget and all is good. YES!!!

Wow, very interesting...I've noticed this problem, it seems rather sporadic and isn't terrible, but it can be distracting. The next time I have the opportunity I'll try and remove BattStatt and see if that fixes it.

If that is the cause, does anyone think it's something that can be addressed in the widgets, or is it more of a system glitch? I sure would love to keep using my precious BattStatt.

If the widget is causing the problem, it's a widget issue. There are other battery monitor apps out there that don't cause that problem, after all.

Had the skipping problem too but never had that battery widget installed. I decided to try out my widgets and so far I have not had any skipping since I removed Weather and Toggle Widget. I don't know why certain widgets seem to be causing problems.

I just removed Weather and Toggle from my main page and not one skip. I really like that program too. Time to find a new clock.

So it is some widgets cause the skip.

Interesting indeed. I didn't have the skipping issue until I flashed JT super clean. Music skipping is annoying so I flashed back to stock and it's still there.

For the first time ever I have not had a skipping issues. Using dj05 and Voodoo5 kernel.

Im using Battstatt also. I removed every widget off my screen once before and it didnt change a thing.

I noticed the other day, for the first time, that I had some popping occurring while listening to either music, navigation, or podcast.

I narrowed it down to the following scenarios: (had a 5 hour drive to figure it out).

I have my phone connected to my stereo via standard audio cable.

When the phone is connected to the car charger, AND my screen is ON, the popping occurs every few seconds.

If I remove the power from the phone, the popping goes away.
If I turn off the screen (with audio and power still connected), the popping goes away.

But, it's guaranteed that if I have the phone plugged into both audio and power, and have the screen on... then i get pops every so often (5-10 second repetition). Enough, that it's distracting to the point of not being able to listen to it.

I assume that this has something to do with the continuous incoming power being used for the screen. Sucks that it impacts the audio feed.

i have no current solution, other than to remove power for a while.. or simply leave the screen turned off (which is not preferred when I have navigation up, or want to listen and see pandora at the same time).

I think its something to do with the kernel's. Ever since Voodoo5 and my dj05 update I have zero skipping with in a 1hr drive. It occurred around every 4 to 8 mins normally.

Fascinate

Good advise all around! Today my Fascinate was replaced by Verizon service because of the problem. But when I went walking tonight, the problem was still there. I deleted the Circle Battery widget and it seems (so far) that the problem is solved. Thanks everyone for the good advice!

I should share that I currently have zero popping under the same scenarios which I described above.. the change? .. I went back to JT's non voodoo stable kernel from 11/11.. ever since rolling back, I can have my phone on charger, with screen on, and all media, audio plays without any popping whatsoever.

I was able to duplicate the popping sounds and also get rid of them... Here is what i've noticed:

1. Popping occurs when both the screen is on, charger is plugged in, and media(pandora) is playing through auxilliary port.
2. Popping goes away if either screen is off or charger is unplugged.
3. Having battstat widget makes no difference.

I'm completely skip free still after I switched kernels. Only time it has skipped was when my phone was "syncing" my facebook for a minute.
