How to you enter to just buy the phone with no plan. I can't see how to get rid of the plan in your cart. I wonder if the store can enter the code.

V chat says can't use promo code on retail $599 orders.

Does this code work if u r paying retail?

It did not for me. I am supposed to get a 25% Corporate discount on hardware (Did on my GNex), but that was not applied either. My "Upgrade Fee" however was free. This was a mock purchase for me, as I want to physically handle the phone before buying.

Oh ok thanks. I get a 22% corporate discount. I believe my upgrade fee is supposed to be free as well. I have to check that out.

I'm gonna go get the phone after work. I'm gonna give it a shot to see if the code will work in store.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the heads up, KDJ209! I actually stopped at my local VZW store this morning (at 9:05). If they had been helpful at all (or even moderately attentive) I would have bought the puppy from them and foregone the discount, as silly as that was. But, fortunately for me, the only person in the store who seemed to know what he was doing was dealing with an extremely long-winded complaint, and the other 3 people were completely clueless and utterly uninterested in helping me. The first two people I asked didn't even know what phone I was talking about; the third just pointed me vaguely "over there". They also had no clue whether they had any cases or other accessories in stock (I was considering just getting a "cheap" silicone case to hold me over until I get a "real one"). But, I got to play with the phone for a good 15 minutes and compare it to the HTC One and the S4 (both of which I'd played with extensively before) and, after that, I decided that G2 was for me. Even if it is thicker than the stock model, it can't be by much. it still looks quite sleek. And the back buttons didn't bother me at all. So, as soon as I got to my office, I pulled the trigger and got a $60 discount with the "verizon30" code. So, thanks again! Oh, one note, at least in my area, the in-store pick up option was not available. The option appeared on the screen, but when I tried it - with 3 different local locations - it said it wasn't available. So, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to have it delivered. I can wait. Really, I can. It's only 23 hours and 55 minutes from now. ;)

Just picked mine up and I asked the salesman if anyone else had bought one today. He said I was the only one. I only got one because I ordered it online and he isn't allowed to sell them today. I asked him if he sold a lot of Notes and he said that is what they are pushing.

I just order my lg g2. Thanks to android central member KJD209 for putting the coupon code up to get the $60 off. It made my decision that much easier. I was going to wait a month or two but well worth getting it early. $194 total for the phone, screen protector, case and $30 upgrade fee(damn verizon). Not to mention I upgraded on my line without unlimited data and moving it over to my unlimited data line. The lady told me they were selling super fast. I hope it gets here Saturday but probably not till Monday.

bought it online using the code. had to pay $30 upgrade fee (wtf?), so phone came out to $170. Picked it up at the store around lunchtime. Guy said that it was only the 2nd one he'd sold all day. LG rep was there and he was very animated and helpful.

I'm on a grandfathered unlimited 4G family plan, so I wound up doing the whole switcharoo so that I can keep unlimited on my line. Everything seems to be working fine now. Super excited about this phone!

Sorry to ask this again but am in a bit of a decision time crunch: anyone know when this code expires?

the code didn't work on the no contract retail purchase. Was the full $599 plus tax.

I don't have a non-unlimited data line to use as an upgrade to then swap to keep my unlimited service. Is there anything I can do to keep unlimited?

Thanks.

Go to the Verizon section of the forum, there is a huge thread with all the answers. And even if you don't want to read through all of it ask your question there and it will get answered.

From what I've read, you can add a new line to your account with 2 GB of data, and then use this to get the G2. After you activate it, you can switch the G2 over to your unlimited line. You then have 2 options.

1) you can just cancel out this additional line. This will result in you paying the ETF. I'm not sure how much that is - maybe $350? So in the long run, you won't save much by doing this ($350 + $200 = $550 versus just paying $600 out right with no contract).

2) you can keep the additional line but put on a "dumb" (no internet) phone on this additional line. This way, you will only be paying $10 per month x 24 months = $240. The savings here are somewhat better than scenario 1 ($240 + $200 = $440 vs. paying $600 out right).

In either case, if you use the verizon30 code, you can save an additional $60 on the 2-year contract price of the phone
