I'm planning on calling my local Costco on the 8th and seeing what they say. My guess is they might not know before then. I'd advise others to do the same before driving there.

It seems to be that the kiosk employees are either told to BS anyone that asks or really are kept in the dark. I just got back from Costco (actually needed to go shopping, not just to bug the kiosk employees) and they said they just get shipments and emails in the morning of what they're going to have that day. I think one of the guys has read the same releases we've seen about the accessories but he didn't know when they were getting the devices.
Yeah, I just spoke with a women at the Costco near me and she said they will be getting the phone this Thursday the 8th, but it hasn't even been confirmed if the phone will be released there on that date.
She did however also say that the bundle deal is definitely a possibility, but they can't confirm that until they receive the phone. It sort of sounded like it was the first time she had heard about this combo, but she didn't sound all that surprised about it.

Just called Costco here in Texas. Guy said he got an email the other day and should be selling them on the 8th. No waiting list....first come first serve. Did advise to check back on Thursday just to make sure they were selling them.
Just got back from my Costco in Northern California and the girl at the kiosk told me that she was told the phones would be in around one week after launch. She was aware of the bundle and also confirmed that I would get my unlimited data grandfathered no problem. I am still going to go check on the 8th, but I don't think the girl was BSing me, so either they won't have it on launch day or they haven't informed her of it yet. She said that she was positive nothing Bionic had come into the store as of today (6th).
I also just wanted to say that I went to Verizon today to check out the screens on the X2 and the Charge to see if the much maligned pentile screen was going to be an issue for me. Wow! Are you guys looking at the same phone as me??? The screen on the X2 is beautiful!!! I can read tiny text just as easily as on my OG Droid, and the screen gets much brighter than the amoled on the Charge. I just really can't believe anyone is complaining about this screen, I preferred it over the Charge's. I still think the iPhone4 has the best looking screen, but man, that thing looks puny compared to the massive display on the X2 and Bionic. Looks like I might have to wait an extra week or so to pick it up, but I am definitely going for the Bionic!

Called my local Costco, and they said they would have it the day of the launch, and that since I would be driving an hour over to the nearest costco, that they would hold one for me.

I pretty much felt the same way looking at them. I even shoved my face as close to the screen as I could get to see how it would look mega magnified like the haters showed us. I couldn't focus that close lol. Guess my eyes are pentile-friendly!

I totally agree! I went to the Verizon store yesterday and looked at the phones and all the pentile screens looked excellent. Zoomed in close to images and looked at text far far away and everything was crystal clear. People say the super amoled screens have the best colors, i buy that but i've seen both and i truly believe both screens are pretty much the same. i really believe people just like to ***** and are cheerleaders for there brand.
People hated on pentile when the nexus one and galaxy s had it.

Good point sir, i didn't realize people were *****ing back in the day about this as well. OK well i guess people should make there own opinion about pentile. Go to the Verizon store and check out there phones. I think the displays are AMAZING but some people seem to have a real problem with it. I don't get it and i'm pretty obsessive about that kind of stuff.
FYI, you could just go and get a Costco membership, then after you get the phone, go back and "return" the membership. (Though I think Costco is awesome and would never give up my membership

Thanks for the info. But, the main reason I'm getting it from Costco is to be able to exchange it for the Droid Prime (If it comes out within 90 days fo 9/8/11).
There is a fair chance they will refund the price you paid for the phone, not just let you exchange for something better. You will still be responsible for paying the difference between retail price and what you get back.

Some of us see it but others do not. I have gotten over it in general, but my only concern will be the ghosting that I have seen on the photon. I am hoping that the Bionic will not have the same issue.

Well no Costco bundle for me! Just called and they are not getting them in until the 13th at my store! SUCKS!
$279.99 in Missouri for the Bionic with all accessories at Costco tomorrow, confirmed at 2 out of 3 stores called (the third wasn't sure when they would get the Bionic)
