Awesome Costco deal!!

Anyone have an idea how long this deal will be in place at Costco? I'm not going to be able to pull the trigger on this at Costco until Feb... not sure I can wait that long but it might be worth it. My original DINC is really starting to piss me off. I'm eligible for early upgrade with VZW now.

I would take that early upgrade myself, but that's up to you. February is a while away, and if you want a phone NOW you should take this NOW. But if you can wait...there WILL be better phones in February, I can guarantee you that.

I went to Costco Today and asked about the Bionic. Funny thing was he had a Bionic Box in his hand until he saw me walk up. Then he played dumb. No idea about release dates or anything. Wouldn't even show me the box.

I'm a little concerned if I buy it from cosco I will have to go back should I have problems with the phone. I'm going to have to use my parents membership and I'm moving across the country in a couple months.

If you have problems you can still go to the VZW store for warranty issues, you can stil get insurance on the phone and file a claim. Not sure why you are concearned.

No you can't get the phones at Costco without a contract. They don't sell them unless you sign an agreement.

You guys be careful doing business with the Costco phone vendor. I am not saying its not on the up & up, but if you do a search on the vendor Wireless Advocates you will know what I mean.
According to what store and who the sales rep is, is what you need to look out for. These people are no more savvy than the Verizon Corp store reps we joke about.

So know your P's & Q's going in and you will be OK.

I am a private investigator. If it seems too good to be true it usually is. If it smells like Chit, it is Chit.

I am a Costco member and will be hitting that booth. I just got off the phone with a rep that says they could have the Bionic in hand any day from the 9th to 10 days after release.
He also had no idea of the accessories deal.
He could not even tell me if I would keep my unlimited Data (which I am eligible for).
He could not tell me if my 20% company discount would be kept in place.

So, Sheesh, tread with care boys & girls. I'm going in for sure, but armed and with caution.

I don't have faith that a VZW Corp employee would be able to give you the right answers to your questions.

Remember that they get no information passed down to them until their bosses tell them. That is unless they are phone nerds and surf sites like these to give you rumors.

The accessory deal is something they won't know about until they get the flyer; my store already knew about this yesterday and showed me the flyer. They said they should have a small stock delivered on the 7th ready for the 8th (he showed me the order sheet that said they would have 20).

Why would you loose a company discount? Your contract is still with VZW. But to answer that yes you will keep it, I bought my Charge from them and have my 25% company discount on my line.

Your mileage may vary as they say. The guy I got hold of at my local Costco, whom is the manager of that booth did know at least about the unlimited data. Though I have also had the employees at the local VZW store screw things up on an almost epic level. My wife hates the local VZW store because of that.

What my guy told me is that they would not really know until the day of or night before. Apparently they seem to keep these folks as much in the dark as VZW does. What he did tell me was to call him the morning of the 8th at just after 9 a.m. (~1hr before the Costco opens) and he would know 1 - if they had the phone and 2 - if they had the bundles.

This is not exactly an answer I wanted, but it was the best he could give me.. sooo.. unless there are any surprises between here and then I'll be calling and headed straight for Costco or VZW.

Just spoke with a very straightforward rep at my local Costco and he said they will have Bionic on the 8th, he acknowledged the $299 bundle deal, he verified that sales tax need only be paid on the $299 and NOT full retail price like Verizon gouges us. He also said that they are able to do an upgrade if you are at your 2 year mark on the old contract but CAN NOT do the one year upgrade offer that the Verizon website is offering.

That last bit is the killer for me since Verizon has offered me, at a little over one year, a $50 discount to upgrade to a new 2 year deal, but Costco is unable to even offer me a new 2 year contract right now to get the phone, soooo Verizon online will get my money.
