Back falling off my LG G7 Fit

[Android Central Question]

The back is starting to fall off my phone. I have clamped it together overnight and it holds for about 5 minutes before opening up again. I want to try gluing it, but with what? Epoxy? CA? Maybe double sided tape?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Before making a more permanent repair, check to be sure the battery hasn't swollen and forced the back off. Making a repair without verifying all is well is asking for trouble if the battery has swelled up.

I suggest this because we've seen several threads about different phones that have had a swollen battery causing the back to pop off or the screen to pop out.

That makes sense. It is a few years old, and I have seen swollen batteries on other old phones. Can the battery be replaced even though it is not a replaceable battery?

I just watched a video of someone replacing the battery. You have to completely gut the phone to get the battery out. I think the odds of it working again after that is not good.
