Backed up photos n vids to google photo app are missing!

A Big Cry For Help!!!!!

Can the sherlock holmes of androids on here help me out!!!

I have the Samsung galaxy a3 (2016). Nearly all the Photos n vids from easter sunday outing
Have vanished from google photos app and also do not appear on google drive app( with google drive message saying it does not support google photos tab any more and thus check settings)

I have both the Google photo n drive app set to auto back up.

So basically what i think happened:

I am from bradford city, west Yorkshire. I went to the royal armouries museum this easter sunday with a friend..i took photos n vids in bradford, some photos n selfies in victoria gate mall that turned out really nice We went to the meuseum on the way, shooting vids n photos and of the events n dispaly items in the meuseum. My phone is set to auto back-up to google photos n drive when on wifi only. i eventually ran out memory on phone. So could not make take more photos n vids was hoping that when i get home. It will connect to my home wifi n auto back-up

However my phone is connected to the bus wifi. Which i logged into on the way back to Bradford. When home i had to give time for wife and baby so did not really see the photos/ vids. But i do remember showing some to my wife from i think the google photos app as the phone gallery app would not open due to memory being full.

As today monday in bradford it was snowing, i wanted to go out and take some more photos n vids so i deleted vids n photos from the "files folder" i think, and not the gallery app as it wouldnt open due to being full.
and i believe i then deleted most of the vids n photos from the gallery app to make space for todays outing.

Now today i have just been looking through the google photo app in the evening to send the photos n vids to my friend but noticed that nearly all from easter sunday outing have gone. But the photos n vids i took in the morning tiday of my baby and of the snow and also of my nephews birthday party in the evening have all been backed up on google photos pretty much straight away when I got home.

Can anyone help me as to where have my easter sunday leeds outing photos n vids have gone?

Also i saw that airplane mode was on n switched it off but cant Remember exactly if this was before Sunday but i think it probaly likely was.

I am gutted that they are not showing. And o have delted them from gallery app and also file folder app to make space for phone memory for todays events thinking they have already been backed up.

Can any give their valuable time to solve this issue?

That sounds really frustrating. First, go to photos.google.com on your computer browser, to confirm that the photos in question aren't there in the cloud. If you don't see them there, then click on the menu button at the upper left and click Trash -- are they there? If so, you can Restore them.

If they're not in your Google Photos in the cloud, then on the phone, use My Files or any other file manager app to look directly in the /DCIM/Camera directory. If you don't see the photos there, then I'm afraid they're gone. What might have happened was that the bus wi-fi you were connected to might have been so slow that the phone only had time to upload just a few photos. It's hard to say what happened when you got home, but perhaps the phone didn't connect to wi-fi for some reason (possibly because Airplane Mode was accidentally turned on?). By the time you started deleting photos and videos to make room, the Google Photos probably didn't get a chance to back them up.

In the future, if you want to delete photos and videos from the phone to make more room, it's always best to open the Google Photos app and tap the Free Up Space option there. The Google Photos app can figure out which photos and videos it's already backed up safely to your cloud, and will then delete those files from the phone.

I will check the website to see.. But i do remember showing my wife my selfies at the victoria gate mall. And looking at some of the museum photos at home during evening briefly. And i do think i was looking at it from the google photo app but now can be sure.

I have seen the free up space option u mentioned but have always been hesitant to use it.as i only have 500mb data a month so if i am at place where i have no wifi or datahas been used up. Then i cant use google photos.


I am gutted!!! I always here online about how people have their valuable photos n vids of treasured moments and thought as long as they are beibg backed up to the google photo app then im alright . I havent checked youtube or instagram for the knight sword fight show at the museum. If u can watch it u will see how entertaining it was.

How ever i have gotten over and realise well all lose things in life. Maybe bigger better memories will come soon

Well sorry for getting back so late.

I checked google photos online and the photos n vids are not in the bin/ trash seems like thay have bern deleted. Although some vids are showing on google drive that r not showing on google photos.

However all Victoria gate mall photos n vids save a few photos have gone and virtually all the photos n a few vids of the royal armouries museum have gone too.

There is another event there next month. I will see if i can get better vids n photos .
