Well, that didn't take long! I cracked my screen after 15 days.
Log story short, I got my warranty replacement device in and I need a suggestion.
Is there an app anyone would suggest to back up my phone with? I'd like it to save some much as possible. Settings, email accounts, honescreen layout, apps, ringtones... AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
I hear that titanium backup is the way to go, but I do not have root access.
Suggestions...?
Thanks in advanced AC fam!

Yeah, I also like to know the best way to back up everything on the Note.

I have not nor do I plan to root my phone.

Personally, I haven't seen anything on Kies.

You can use your Google mail to back everything up.
Mine is set to do this. Though i haven't figured out how to
do it. Haven't really tried either.

You can save most everything thru Kies on your computer.

Kies is suppose to be able to do it, but everytime I have tried it it fails.

If you were rooted Titanium backup is awesome.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I don't want to make a new thread and since I'm already here I'll just ask a quick question: Since checking for software updates requires Wi-Fi and I don't have free Wi-Fi anywhere near my house, does that mean when ICS comes on the 21st I won't receive an update? Or I won't receive one until I find a Wi-Fi spot and turn it on?

First, if history is repeated, we will get the update via Kies, and some sort of computer, and not OTA. That PC will have to download it via any internet access and then it will apply the update to your phone.

So not only doy you need internet you need a computer loaded with Kies.

I would be very suprised if it was pushed over the air considering Samsungs history.

So, how does one go about backing up using Kies? I looked around online, and it said to just put the backup/restore button.
Where is it!?
Is it because I am using Kies Air? Is there such a thing as just Kies? Some sort of wired connection or something?

Kies and Kies Air are two separate programs. If you go to here:
Transfer, Sync & Manage Music, Movies, Photos, Contacts and Calendars with Kies
About a third of the way down the page is a link for both PC and MAC downloads.

I just watched a vid demoing kies. Wow, kies offers many more options than HTC Sync (which I use to connect my Inspire to my pc). Kies does offer a total backup to a puter!

Is kies pre-installed on the Note?

The vid I watched is here:
Kies 2.0 - PC Overview - YouTube

I can hardly wait to get a Note! :)

Kies LITE is installed on the Note. Although it's a nice WI-FI connect feature the full Kies experience is much better. Downloaded it from Samsung and plug in your Note. You'll be glad you did.

So, perhaps my question was unclear . . .

Are you saying that only Kies Air is pre-installed on the Note?

I prefer the usb connection to my puter. I realize I will need to download kies to my puter in order to connect my Note. But will I have to download kies to the Note also?

I installed Kies as suggested.
But now, my computer does not see when the Note is connected. I attempted to update the drivers from Samsung website, but nothing.
On a related note (please excuse the pun), when I launch Kies, it states that there is an update available, so I attempt to update the program. It seems to download everything properly, but it does not install. Is Kies a flakey program? My experience with Samsung has always been good until now, but things are going down hill quickly.

Kies is much improved. After downloading, restart your computer. Open Kies, update it. If still a problem, uninstall it and reinstall it from Samsung.
Reboot your phone, wait until it finishes, unlock it, open Kies, and now connect phone with USB cable directly to your computer not through a hub. Now Kies should see it.
Hope this helps.
