Backing up the homescreens?

Hey all, coming from the OG Droid to the Verizon GNex that I got for Christmas. I couldn't help myself, I unlocked and rooted it the next day lol. As of now I'm running Pete's nightly Bugless Beast roms with an Apex kernel. Super smooth so far and loving it.

On to my question, one thing I hate about flashing new roms is that I always have to redo my homescreens (re-add all the widgets, apps, folders, etc.). So I was wondering if there was any way to do a backup of them all, whether it'd be through Titanium Backup or otherwise, that way I don't have to go through the hassle of redoing it every time I wanna try a new rom. Thanks!

The only way to back up your home screens is by using a launcher that has that function. It seems as though Nova is the favored one to try. If you don't like the idea of a launcher, what I've done is take a screen shot of all my home screens (hold down the down volume button and power button at the same time to get screenshot), copied them to my pc, then after flashing, I pull them up and rebuild my screens. Having the images on my pc means I don't have to keep switching to my gallery as I replace icons. I can set up the 3 screens I use in about 5 minutes.

As said, Nova launcher has backup and will restore automatically once it(nova) is restored. Widgets sometimes require and extra step, but still backs up location.

Mybackup free did it for me with out me telling to. Im not sure if the backup of apps and data did it or if it was the backup of everything else that did it

asside from the widgets, TiBu backs up everything exactly the way it was as long as you back it up correctly

Nova works great for me. It's crashed a few times here and there, but for the most part been really stable and extremely helpful for restoring home screens.

What do you mean by back it up correctly? Is there a certain app or service there that I need to make a backup of in order for it to do so?
