Well got another one today after I sent my first one back after it had like a 10 second delay at night when flashing while taking a pic. This new one has backlight bleed right in the middle of the top along with a few white specs on a black background.

Looks like this one will be going back too. HTC still has not fixed their issues and this is why they will never be number 1. I had a one x and it had the same issues.. the guy at best buy told me the HTC one has been returned A LOT!!

I love this phone but I really might go with a s4 just so I don't have to worry about backlight bleed and dead pixels..

Also HTC never puts out cases for their phones at retail stores like the s4 does.. ridiculous

No issues like that with mine. I still got the first one. Maybe call me lucky? I thought best buy sold their cases? Well the hard she'll one anyways. Just order it from Amazon or HTC the self. Problem solved.

Sent from my HTC One

If you think for one second that the S4 is perfect you are sadly mistaken. They produce bad batches of phones just like everyone else. The first S4 I got, got so hot it could cook a steak on the back. It also wouldn't keep a signal long enough to make/keep a call and I won't even mention the battery life. The second S4 I got was much better but still needed to turn off all features to get OK battery life. So I gave it to my daughter and I proudly carry an HTC ONE.

I got my my Otterbox defender case at radio shack. They also had 2 other styles of cases. One clear and one pink...pink's not my color...I've seen cases at BB...

See, BB probably gets a huge kickback selling S4's over the one. Especially if they get someone to return the One for an S4. Most (not all) BB employees are as worthless as t*ts on a bullfrog.

I understand your frustration as I went with this with my Evo 3D and vowed NEVER to buy HTC again. So here I sit with the One and happy. The S4 just did nothing for me. But if I were you and I know it's a pain in the ****, I would keep sending it back till you got a perfect phone that suits your liking. If not, then good luck to ya!

To my knowledge there as only 2 OEM cases for the HTC One. All others are 3rd-party.

Radioshack here has just a clear case. Best buy only has otterbox and Wal-Mart has nothing. But everyone has tons for an s4!

I love the speakers and looks on the one over the s4 but I'm not sure I wanna chance it again. Closest best buy to me is 25 miles so that's a LOT of gas to keep going back and back

I recently spent some time with my Friends HTC one.. Didn't seem to have any issues. No bleeding, No lag, all good.
he wanted to trade for my S4 but i decide to keep the S4. As a previous poster mentioned you could get a bad batch from any manufacture ... Even apple
As for the battery comment... S4 battery is WAY better then HTC one (that's with everything on on both devices)

What are you looking at to see the light bleed? I wonder how to test this?

Download dead pixel test from play store. Go to the black background. Go to a pitch dark room and look for tiny white spots on the screen (gotta look close sometimes) and also light bleed will be easily visibile.

I do this with all phones when I first get them.

s4 has won virtually every comparison test vs the HTC one. Not only on performance, accessibility, but overall customer satisfaction. having a removable back us is crucial to me and you'll find it a blessing to easily upgrade memory and battery capacity.

Well, I'm not a fanboy, but Android Central (You know, the people who own the forum you're posting on) took the HTC One over the S4, and so have most of the other mags. With 32GB (25GB accessible) I don't NEED an SD Card like I would on a 16GB S3 which is all Verizon carries right now. Yes, they'll release the App2SD fix in a year or so, but you'd better hope and pray it isn't like the Multi-Window update they just did for the S3...That's what moved me to the One in the first place. 4G connectivity with 1X speed, failed texts, abysmal battery life, and a myriad of other issues. Verizon blames Samsung, and Samsung blames Verizon. Both of them suck at pushing updates in a timely fashion.

Mine is good. Even with a loupe, no dead pixels and no bleed.

Ok if I show you comparison test where the S4 did not win or show user ratings where the HTC One scored higher than the S4 would you admit that you're wrong?

I can agree with some of your points removable battery and memory but Android Central rated the HTC ONE as the best phone for 2 months now I guess it's all a matter of personal opinion!!!!

Yeah and that's why the HTC one has won best phone on two different sites. S4 has NOT beat the ONE on any performance tests except for benchmarks...how's your lag and stuttering treating you?? mmm?? Which is mentioned on ALL sites and reviews...even after the update. And calling people a fan-boy makes you no better than a small child. My last two phones before this was the S2 and S3, so take that .

I liked my One, but I returned it and kept my s4 and never looked back! Love it!

The only thing that I liked better on the S4 over the One was it's call quality. Not reception, but how the earpiece sounded to my ear. My S3 was awesome and the S4 was even better....but the One, to me, is in between the two.

Some people had the One and went with the S4 and vice versa. It is all about personal taste and what suits your needs better. The One just happens to be the one for me.

Super hard for me to see, but if I move my phone around on a black background I counted 10 dead pixels. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!
