backup from Honor 7??

Hiya, due to ongoing issues with my Honor 7, my carrier has let me upgrade early to the Honor 8. They're coming to collect the old phone on Monday and drop the new one off at the same time.

I've backed up my phones data, apps, layout etc using the Honor back up and restore feature onto my MicroSD card.

When I get the Honor 8, do I just put the MicroSD card in and choose restore from backup?

What I'm asking is, can you restore a Honor 8 using a Honor 7 backup?!
