Take a look at the AirDroid app, available on the Play Store:

As long as both your phone and Win10 PC are on the same local network -- WiFi to WiFi or WiFi to wired -- you can network the two together so all interchanges just go through your router. Some claim that you have to sign up for an AirDroid account to use it, but they're incorrect. That's only if you want to use AirDroid remotely through the Internet, relying on transfers going through online servers. Oh, and as far as I'm aware there's no scheduling option so if that's a deal-breaker aspect than ignore this entire posting.
To use AirDroid locally, solely within your home LAN and insulated from the Internet by your router, all you need is the AirDroid app installed on your phone. You don't need to install any drivers or any software on your PC as all you need is a web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Edge, etc. will work, AirDroid is not tied to any particular browser).
Start the app up and when it pops up on screen, there's a section called 'AirDroid Web'. In the two lines below the header will be a web address, which you can skip (that's the one where you need to have an AirDroid account), and the second one is another web address, the one you focus on. It will be an IP address, based on how DHCP is set up in your router, with a port address, so you might see something similar to:
http://192.168.1.4:8888
or maybe
http://10.0.0.4:8888
(The part to the left of the colon being the IP address, the part to the right of the colon the port number)
Just enter that exact string into your PC's web browser, hit the Enter key, and on your phone it will beep and require you to 'reject' or 'accept' the connection. Tap 'accept' and then on your PC the browser tab will fill up with a representation of your phone. (You can do a lot more than just transfer files back and forth, you can also do tasks like use your phone's camera remotely.) So basically, when you need to connect your phone to your PC you just need to 1) start the app on your phone, 2) type in the indicated IP/port number into your PC's browser, and 3) tap the 'accept' button.
If you plan on doing this frequently, you can streamline the process.
-- Go into your router's setup menu and give your phone a reserved IP address, that way it will always receive the same IP address in your home LAN
-- Now add a bookmark to your browser based on that IP address with the 8888 port number. (note in AirDroid's Settings menu you can use a different port number, the 8888 is just the default).
-- Go into AirDroid's Settings menu and disable the 'Require confirmation' option.
Now when you want to connect your phone to your PC, just start up the AirDroid app on your phone and then open up that bookmark in your browser.
