Baked Snack Froyo EB13/EC05 "More Undisputed ;)"

DeskClockGoogle.apk (This is the version I have)

I can't confirm if it will work for the EVO but its worth a shot. Place it in her /system/app folder.

Otherwise if that is not the correct version the same file can be pulled from the Baked Snack 2.2 no wipe version. Look in the /system/app folder with WinRAR or 7Zip and pull it from there. DeskClockGoogle.apk

Thank you sir!! I will try it when I get home tonight.

Flashed 2.1 and all was well (except gingerbread keyboard) but when i flashed the menu fix I started getting FC's from google framework and Handcent... Could it be the keyboard??? On a side note, I already see a major improvement in battery.

black on black menu problem

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the same issue you guys are having but for the text and email problem with the black on black text. I installed the menufix.zip that he gave us on his site and that worked for me. I'm not sure if that is what you guys are talking about.

Well the fun is over :(. The phone keeps locking up whenever its asleep for more than like 5 minutes and I have to do a battery pull. At first I attributed it to an app, but after removal the problem persists. Worse yet the battery life is simply ATROCIOUS. I put the phone to sleep at midnight last night with 96% battery. At 7:30 AM (after doing another battery pull) it had 21% remaining. So in 7 hours of being asleep it used some 70% of the battery, whereas it normally uses about 5% or so. It's a shame because it was great in use and I certainly notice the drop in performance being back on Twilight, but it basically ruins the phone.

EDIT: I want to re-iterate that this did NOT happen with Baked Snack. I extracted the Baked Kernel and used it with SRF. The Baked Snack ROM/Kernel may actually work fine, as this may be an issue from combining the Kernel with a ROM it wasn't intended for, or could simply mean the undervolting played havoc with my particular batch of silicon, so don't take my observations as a demerit against the Baked Snack ROM itself.

It may be worth someone else trying the Kernel on it's own to see if they run into the same problems, because the performance was quite frankly fantastic, just make sure to do a Nandroid backup beforehand.

I didn't get far enough to see battery performance. Flashed this morning, did an advanced data restore through CWM (maybe this was the issue?), it then ran just fine for several hours and shut down. I did the battery pull game a couple times before reflashing my nandroid.

I haven't seen this issue discussed much. Could it be in the undervolt or clocking settings?

I seem to have the same issue as well. I flashed ACE 1.7, then Baked Snack 2.1 (I wanted to see what all there was) and went back to ACE. This morning, I had to pull the battery. I wiped 3x, flashed to Baked Snack, and still faced the same issue. I've since restored to Bonzai with no issues. I was wondering if it was in the undervolt or clocking settings myself.

Can anyone confirm that?

UPDATE:
Using Bonzai, my phone locked up again so I had to pull the battery again. I've wiped 3x and flashed BS again.

I'm running ACE with no problems. So to try BS2.1 do I need to Odin back and then falsh 2.1, or can I simply wipe and flash 2.1? THNX!!!

I'm really liking this ROM, especially the battery life (8h32m since unplugged and 71% battery left). I do, however, have one minor issue.

The smilies for text messages are a bit off. They all have been replaced with very generic smilies, as opposed to the stock Android smilies. Long story short, I love the stock Android smilies and I want them back :( <--ADORABLE

Even stranger, one smiley in the whole group is like some sort of stock sole survivor. You can see it in the attached screenshot. By the way, this all assuming what I'm seeing is not just my phone experiencing some odd bug. Let me know if you're on 2.1 and have somehow retained the stock smilies.

You need to wipe cache and wipe dalvick or whatever 3 times, then flash the menu fix. For the keyboard, uninstall it and redownload from market and it should work.

Okay, a couple of things before I try to install again. Where can I get Baked Snack 2.2? I made an account on his website, I donated with paypal the amount it said to, then I sent him the confirmation code and I still haven't gotten access. Its been about two or three days already. Did I forget a step?

Also, once I flash the 2.1 ROM, could I restore the data of a previous back up so I don't have to reinstall all my apps. I have about 70 and as much as I like Titanium Back up, that takes a lot of work and sometimes it doesn't restore all my apps.

One last thing, I'm on midNIGHT ROM 5.0. Could I just wipe everything three times, flash the 2.1 ROM then flash cache/dalvik 3x and menu fix, then wipe the same ones again 3x and restore data? I'm just tired of having to reflash my phone after using odin and everything. its a pain... :-(

Out of the 5 kernels from 2.2, which one is supposed to be the best for the battery? I'm so confused lol. 1.2 low or 1.28 lowest? I don't care about overclocking, it's really fast either way.. just want battery power

Go to the forum, Samsung Epic 4g Download Links, 2.2, and it should be right there. There are 5 kernels in there under sd card, flash whichever you like. Btw it doesn't send you an email that your are accepted, so just try to login and see if it works in the forums part.

If I was you, i would not use titanium, it's better to reinstall from scratch to avoid fc's and have a clean install

I can confirm this fixed the issue with the coloring on the drop down menus guys, so definitely install this menu fix... on a side note, I still have an issue with the theme overall in gmail... read emails are dark grey and new ones are black, and unless you stare, it's pretty hard to tell the difference... I don't mind what the developer is going for with the clear theming, but colors are two close... maybe there's something in settings to fix this... will take a look, but I don't recall this option...

After much effort yesterday wiping multiple times and dealing with force closes or loop boots, I finally have BS 2.2 running on the 1.28 low kernel, and EC05... too early to make a judgment on battery life... however, I did notice an issue I've never had before... I know not to restore system stuff when changing ROMs, so I used Titanium just to restore my apps... typically I do a batch reinstall of apps and there are no problems... with this ROM, I checked off the APKs I wanted to reinstall, but only about 80% of them reinstalled... when I click on the missing ones in the crossed off list at the bottom of the batch list, those missing APKs are clearly backed up, but the restore button is missing... very bizzarre? Anyone experience this? I found the real APKs or reinstalled from market for the missing apps, but it was a pain I'd like to avoid again... also, my market links are all broken... how do I reconfigure things so that I get update notifications again for installed apps? Thx

Also, to follow up on a prior request, since for some god unknown reason the text notification for vmails has reappeared in this ROM, can somebody please post the fix? I can't find it... Thx

Thanks, actually did that lastnight before I read your reply... Working like a charm now, although I kind of miss the stock browser; testing Opera 6 anyway.

I was trying to get hulu working and installed flash_hulu_installer_v3.signed (edify).zip, which was originally created by midNIGHT... worked like a charm on that ROM... unfortunately since installed on BS 2.2, I get massive force close issues... how do I uninstall this file? Or do I have to wipe and start over, which would be a nightmare... this ROM is really finicky...

I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING!!! I followed the instructions exactly and somehow this time it worked. Unfortunately, I haven't been given access to the Baked Snack forums yet so I'm only on 2.1. :( But I love the darkness of the ROM. :)

Grab the Honeycomb Fusion 1.1 theme and you will be real close to the Baked Snack 2.2 version minus having the custom kernels...

I actually had Bonsai 4.0 with that theme. But the Stock Baked Snack ROM theme is actually better then the Honeycomb Fusion theme. It has the popup spacing correct and doesn't cut off words. (ex. hold down on home screen & that popup there is smaller.) So I'm keeping the regular ROM like this. But I'm really disappointed that its been a few days and nothing. How long does it usually take to get access to the forums? I've been checking back almost every hour.
