Baked Snack Froyo EB13/EC05 "More Undisputed ;)"

Anytime I flash SFR and then any Baked Snack kernel I lose root. Not sure what i'm doing wrong here. I wipe everything, flash SFR 1.1.0, reboot. After confirming root I go back to CWM and flash the "1.28low.zip" kernel using the "choose zip from sd card". Kernel installs, reboot, and then when I attempt to run setcpu it says I no longer have root. This is so frustrating. I've also tried simply extracting the zimage file from the kernel and putting it in with SFR but that gives me trouble as well... What am I doing wrong?
That is because SFR doesn't have root built into the ROM. They do it threw the kernel. Baked Snack on the other hand has root built into his ROM and not the kernel.

Sent from my Epic 4g....

I have on my phone SFR V1.1.0. And Kernel vision kernel v1.1. I tried to flashed the new rom baked snack 2.3. Please correct me if I did something wrong because I could not flash bs 2.3
First, I backed up my system through CWM. Then, I wiped out my system like everyone does before flashing a new rom (three times). Finally, I flashed bs 2.3 like I have done before with the others (2.1 and 2.2). Can anybody tell me if I have done something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi, can someone please educate me on the EC05 modem.
Is this the new code? Is ec05 in the Bakedsnack Rom? How is ec05 useful?
Thanks!

Some people say the EC05 modem gives you better reception and/or fasters upload and download speeds, however I haven't noticed a difference. The EB13 modem and EC05 modem are interchangeable, so you're not required to switch.

"EC05" just refers to the build/version of Froyo. It's the newest one. The previous one was EB13.

Baked Snack 2.3 has a ROM based on EB13 (which the developer says is for stability), and a kernel based on EC05.

For an explanation on these terms, go here.

So is 2.2 available to the public now? I know there were some issues regarding links (don't know the whole story) but where can I download 2.2? If I like it as much as 2.1 I'd consider paying for the forum.

Google the name of the ROM to find Hero's website. Unfortunately we can't post links atm.

You can download 2.3 in heros forums. Its been there for 2 or 3 days or more. Don't remember

Loving the battery life with his new 1.28low kernel! I'm at 7 hours 15 minutes and 82% battery remaining. Listened to music for about an hour, sent/received several texts, checked news/weather, and some light browser use.

Seriously......$5 to become a member in order to download the rom....I'll stay with Syndicate

I understand what your saying completely. To each their own when it comes to donate or not.

I just look at it all the money we blow away each day and all the stuff that is free on these Android phones, I said ahh what the heck and gave into the 5 dollars. The kernels alone were worth the 5 bones.

Bonsai is running a similar deal.. Donate 5 bones and you get early access to his new stuff. Otherwise everything else is free.

Hero might have just forgotten to update his public downloads page. If a few people email and remind him he might put up links to Baked Snack 2.2.

Guys, I am a forum member of BS but currently on Bonsai... that said, I am interested in trying the new kernels before a move ROMs... is there a way to get the new kernels as a member without having to flashing the entire ROM (in order to get the A1BakedSauce folder on your SD)... I have the old folder from a prior install, but would like to try the new modded kernels...

yeah, the new kernels seem to give awesome battery life! the only thing for me is I like to run at 100/1200, and the 1.2 kernels don't actually settle down to 100, even when set to 100. not sure what imact this has, Hero says it just makes the cpu have to scale more steps, but I still feel like it could save even more battery. but the 1.28 low kernel does seems to settle at 100, but 1280 freezes my phone, so I run 100/1000, which yields stellar battery life.
