So I tried both BAMF 2.1 remix and their Sense 3.0 and I have to say I like the 2.1 remix better. Sens 3.0 is cool but Adrenelyn, that dude and the other's style on the remix is siiiiick.

I'm curious about what everyone else thinks.

Either way kudos to the BAMF crew!!

Same here. I tried 3.0 last night with the expectation and intention to go back to 2.1r. Gave it about 30 min then reloaded my nandroid. It's amazing, just need more time theme wise.

prp - I'm recommend waiting on a new release.

Plus, 2.1 will be seeing theme mods from ZHPilot soon probably. Look forward to them. Running Urban now, awesomeness.

I flashed the 3.0 final last night and the one thing I'm really missing is the 5 row wide in the application drawer. I'm still pretty new to the remix roms since 2.1 remix was my first one and did like the themed parts of the rom. I plan on sticking with 3.0 for a few more days pending any new updates on any BAMF ROM.

I've always been a fan of Remix but wanted to see what all this 3.0 talk was about since I never flashed any of the previews. Flashed 3.0 this morning, I'm gonna try it for a few days to see how it stacks up to 2.1 Remix. I like the carousel scrolling & little tweaks to the stock apps, but Thatdudebutch makes it tough to stray away from any Remix he puts out. Gonna see how the battery life is on 3.0 before I revert back.

I just got a RMA replacement phone because the rockers we're busted on my original... that said, I have to root again. I want to go with 2.1 Remix so my question is: can I just do the AutoRoot then apply the 2.1 ROM or is there a radio update or anything I'll need to do? Maybe someone can give me the steps.
Thanks.

After you autoroot and flash recovery (rom manager), make a nandroid, etc, you'll have to flash either the MR2 or MR2.5 radio to run any of the GB Sense roms - like bamf 2.1

You probably want to chekc the md5 for the radio before you flash it in hboot (as a PG05IMG.zip named file) - bc flashing corrupted radios can brick so make sure the file is complete.

Weighing in on 2.1 vs Sense 3:

agree with you guys I want the remixed rosie (honestly there is no reason to have the personalize button in the dock ever), and some aesthetic remix tweaks (transparent pulldown notification bar). Also just noticed sense 3.0 doesn't have google car home. Another thing with sense 3.0: some lag when moving icons around the home screens. Otherwise almost no lag.

on the other hand, i REALLY LIKE the carousel effect. This might be cool enough for me to stick with 3.0 actually.

I've found myself a couple times today rapidly scrolling to either side just to see the carousel spin around just for the hell of it, good times!

I LOVE the carousel effect, but it does nothing function wise, I can wait for that. I'm not even taking advantage of Sense anymore with LP, so the decision was easier for me.I love my 5x5 home screen grid and home row... function, like the GB lock screen. Has to be cool and useful. I keep trying, but it's really hard to go back to an 4x4 grid.

I used to be sooo tired of sense, and i used adw x with 5 icon dock + hidden dock, and a seven row home screen - But i just turned things around with bamf 2.0 betas, and all of a sudden i like sense again.
4 Icon rows doesnt bother me!!! i dont know how this happened.

Really dont like the personalize button in the dock tho. Internet has to be there for me. Everything else i can deal with.

And carousel does nothing but give me something to do when i pull out my phone for no reason. Now i can just start fast-scrolling and watch the pretty animation.

btw this looks good. really busy haha but you've got everything you need basically.

Thanks. Way busy, lol. I change stuff around all the time. If I can cut out a press I try to. I don't know why a 4x4 grid isn't enough anymore. I have more shortcut options than I do apps, lol. You can't see the swipepad, smart taskbar and wave launcher. :p

You use swipe pad, wave launcher, AND smart taskbar!?!?!?! hahaha. awesome. crazy, but awesome.
I tried wave launcher but i was engaging it by accident too often and it didn't do enough to replace the hidden dockbar (adw has this i dunno about LPP).

Never tried those other two tho.

It used to be my goal to have as little as possible on screen, but i stopped caring and i'll load up widgets on one of the 5 homescreens i dont use. Back on the sense thing - i like the sense clock now. I used to use simi when i was on cm7 for the dinc and adwx on the bolt. But sense weather animations and clock are killing it these days.

EDIT @ SoDev - you should try google gesture search - For me it has eliminated the need for the people app on my homescreens, as well as just makes things all around more convenient.

I'm not familiar with the flash recovery in RoM Manager step, what is that?

You download rom manager from the market, and you open it up and select Flash Recovery - this gives you recovery mode, where you can backup your entire system (nandroid backups) - which is very helpful if you want to save the state of your phone to go back to, or if you flash something bad and get stuck in a bootloop - http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...-backup-restore-install-roms-thunderbolt.html

Anyway, I would auto root, then dl Rom manager, then flash recovery, then make a nandroid backup in rom manager to save your Rooted Stock set up, in case you need to go back to it.

After that, you can flash 2.1, and then install the new radio (either mr2 or mr2.5 in hboot as a pg05img.zip file).

Note: installing GB bamf roms should be done in Recovery mode, and not thru the Rom manager app bc it can cause problems. I think it explains eveyrhting in that guide by cyberwarrior.

Seriously, those devs are HOT!!!! They do stuff even the manufacturers can't/won't do. Well, I've been on the fence about Sense3.0 vs. BAMF 2.1 I've flashed and re flashed about 3 times each since last night. I am picky. I think I'm going to stick with 3 for now. I like the different things that it brings to the table, I've even thought about just going back to stock... But, then I saw a Netflix ad. uh, no thanks I needs ma Netflix! Plus this just flows better than stock I think.

I guess the last thing I would ask is what Radio everyone is running with Remix2.1? The 2.0 or the 2.5? Not sure (mixed responses on forums) of which one to flash. And regardless of which one, next question is should I flash the new radio first then the ROM?

I am using 2.5 but that's bc i seemed to lose 4g easier on 2.0 - they both work, you just have to sort of subjectively choose the one you think works better (at least that's what i tried to do).

I would flash the radio first, let it settle in a little bit (five minutes without messing with the phone after reboot), then boot into recovery mode, wipe data, cache, and dalvik 2-3 times each, and then flash the rom. Then, i would let the rom settle in for a few minutes before going thru setup, and then let market install your apps for a couple min, then you should be straight.

Thanks, do I need to be concerned when restoring all my app+app data to the new 2.1 ROM or can I just do that as one normally would?
