Bars turn orange with power saving mode off

Edit: thinking to myself 'why not' I asked the Google assistant to turn off battery saver and it worked

As soon as I unplug my Huawei Mate 10 lite some sort of power saver gets activated (screen gets a little darker and orange bars appear) and I can't figure out how to disable it, in settings I can only turn on an additional "Power saving mode" and "Ultra power saving mode", nothing to disable the power saver that appears to be always on
