Battery after GB Update

Going 10.5 hours on battery and still have 40% left. My usage hasn't been as high today though but I usually work 8-10 hours so I should be good.

My battery drains faster, my four buttons at the bottom of the phone don't light up consistently, and I hate the way the browser dims while scrolling on a page.

14 hrs and I'm now down to 10%. It'll be dead soon on on the charger. Lol

I second all your PAIN! Will there be a fix soon, or will Moto deny these issues are for real?

General battery health question....

Is it common practice for folks to always let their phones run down to the "must charge" point? Until recently I normally wouldn't let it go below 50% or so but I've been only charging lately when it's about to shut off....

LiPo batteries can be topped off or run completely down...it really doesnt matter. They don't have a charge memory so you cant deteriorate the charge life by recharging before it is completely dead.

I thought mine was draining faster at first. I then realized that I was wrong. Seems to be fine.

My battery drains a LOT faster now. Within 10 minutes of unplugging it from the charger I am down to 90% charge.

Did anyone try a hard factory reset after the upgrade to see if that fixes the battery drain?

My battery life seems to have improved for the most part... I guess that's rare around here...

Things seem to have settled down and battery life is, actually, looking a little better. O.o

I've got the non-rooted OTA GB. I turn off my wifi in the morning, and I'm running a battery saver mode. I use it a few times for phone calls, and maybe a few texts at lunch. I will have about 60% around 1pm, and leave it alone. At this point it's basically on standby...locked, no screen, no wifi, no satellite. At 4pm, it's all the way down to 30%. I take a look at the battery manager, but nothing jumps out as far as odd usage. Not sure why it's dropping down so far so fast at this time of day. I uninstalled the sense clock widget, and put the messaging on manual "fetch", so Ill see if that slows down the battery drain today.

Even though I see a marked improvement...I still plug into my laptop all day whilst at work.

Mine is running fine...battery in performance mode, brightness set to 70%, everything (wifi/gps) left on, and I have about 40 to 50% battery left when I go to bed around midnight. The biggest battery killer I found for my phone are widgets...particularly calendar and weather widgets.

Is anyone who is having the battery issue have the sync icon in the notification bar???

If so how did you get rid of it?

When your phone isn't charging, the battery is "discharging"
