My galaxy tab s (stock and not rooted) has a kernel wake lock "sec-battery-monitor" causing a huge drain. Tried searching on Google/xda with no information.

Gsam battery monitor shows this wake lock. I've made sure the are no battery Widgets, battery reporting, optimizing apps being used.

Would anyone please explain what this wake lock does?

There always is a report from the battery. In fact, you would arguably have 2: the stock one, and GSAM. Have you tried rebooting the device?

Yes, I did. I was under the same impression. But the strange thing is that i don't see this wakelock on my oneplus one which is also running gsam. Why the difference?

Thanks!

Re: Battery drain due to sec-battery-monitor

Hi there, did you find how to solve the problem with this "sec-battery-monitor" wakelock? I am suffering the exact same problem in Note 3 (SM N900) and I have tried almost everything (except flashing a new kernel, there is no kernel available for Lollipop yet). Nevertheless, I could gain some extra hours by freezing (with Titanium Backup) the "Google App". Now I can hit almost 20 hours with average use, but the main problem is this "sec-battery-monitor" thing that keeps my device awake 100% of the time.
Regards!
