Battery Draining Issue

I recently bought a HTC Incredible S and after using the phone for a few days I have noticed that the battery drains incredibly quickly. After leaving it on charge all night, the battery drained from 100% to 70% after half an hour of little to no use. It would then continue to drain to 0% and turn off. However, when I turned the phone back on (without charging) the phone was back at 95% charged. This would then continue throughout the day until I can finally no longer turn it back on (usually after doing this 6-7 times).
I'm leaving the country this Wednesday for 3 months so sending the phone back to get fixed isn't an option. Is there anything I can do which will fix this issue? Possibly a new battery?

A new Battery is probably a good way to start. In the meantime, pull up the battery stats in Settings>Battery and give us a screenshot of those stats and click on the graph and screenshot that too please.

Try using battery apps like Better Battery Stats or get a new battery. I doubt an app could be causing this issue.

Here are the screenshots.

After noticing it for a couple of days I did a factory reset to see if that would fix it so the only apps I currently have installed on the phone are the default ones.

How old is the device?

Since it is only a week old, can you get an exchange before you leave on Wednesday?

Sending it back isn't really a desirable option. I bought it online and by time I get a new one I'll be overseas. If however there is no way to fix the issue, I will be sending it back and just buying a different phone while overseas.

A new battery is still an option, I was thinking returning the current one was a better one.
